This weekend I started having an issue with AIFP that has left me scratching my head.
Last I used AIFP was Wednesday last week, and then it worked just fine. When I started it today, it did as it normally does, scanning P3D v. 5 for files and showing the screen that Don's site is offline. I click OK to that screen, and the scanning files screen completes.
But - the title bar in AIFP remains greyed out, the computer's fans go into high gear and nothing else happens. When I look in Task Manager, AIFP is using 8.7 % CPU, and it is adding RAM to itself in about 30 MB chunks every second. This goes on and on and on....
I terminated AIFP from Task Manager, deleted it and installed a fresh copy. Same result. A cold reboot, same result. Went through system image restore with DISM and sfc /scannow. Same result.
Everything else I have tried so far on this system has worked OK, as far as I can see. P3D runs fine, and AI traffic is present on the airfields I have checked.
I searched the web for possible solutions, and Google guided me to a possible solution here, where I would change "No Automatic Update" to True and "Development Updates" to False in AIFP.ini - didn't work.
So I'm thinking maybe I have a corrupt traffic file or something like that, but before I go down that route I thought I would throw the scenario out here and see if anyone has experienced something similar and maybe has a cure.
Thanks in advance for any hints -
Jorgen
