• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Instant Scenery can display the names of all the library and placement BGL files in the area. As for airport files (AFD - runways, etc.) the ICAO code for the airport is almost always in the file name.

    The Hierarchy Editor is a button at the top (or now side?) of the screen. Click it, click the Highlighted button, go through the list on the left until the undesired object turns red (and hopefully nothing else), then click Remove.

    Are the starting planes true FSX or later aircraft? If so it is an easy edit of the model.cfg file for P3D. If either are FS9 models, that’s a much larger project.

    As Arno says, you can export to two different formats in FS 2004. Make sure you choose the scenery one.

    Try a different choice in the ground polygon box that pops up when you compile the airport. As I remember the default is the top choice, and the second one usually worked for me.

    The gp lines and gp surfaces in ADE can be displayed, but they disappear when imported into the P3DV5 version. What could be the reason?

    Are you adding the CVX BGL file that ADE creates into an active scenery folder? It’s an extra BGL file. Are you sure the required texture files are being added to the adjoining texture folder?
