• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    FS Architect v4.1

Thanks gentlemen! I'll disable the links above.

    FS Architect v4.1

That sounds great! As I said, I tried but I kept getting a size error...

    FS Architect v4.1

Since I'm permanently shutting down my website as of April 22, and since I've been asked for these recently as well as in the past, I've re-uploaded the files for any and all of you who ever need FS Architect. It's the last and latest version I have. Also, due to the length of time that has...

Do you think the platform will change for Flight Sim?

I'm 100% PC. Always have been. As with the comments so far, anything other than a flight stick, throttles, rudder pedals and such makes FS more like a game than a simulator. IMO regardless of the "trends" and "transition to newer platforms", I'll stay with my clunky, big, noisy PC.

    F-16 Block 52+ Developer Project

I sincerely LOVE the MudHen from Iris... Especially since I did crew (ground maintenance) "183" at Edwards AFB and even had the opportunity to actually perform a few engine runs in that beast!! Anywho, I'd love to see what you'd come up with as the F-16 is surprisingly a "fun" aircraft to...

    Dirty Windshield or No! No!!!!

Although I do agree with the desire for clean windows, I do like when a developer applies that ghostly interior reflection. Gives the windows a more realistic "appearance" and haven't impacted my dawn, dusk or night ops. There are other things that a lot of aircraft developers add to their...

    Activating Scenery in FS2004

I've never had good results copy-n-pasting installations and config-files. I've always had to go through and add each and every scenery file but... I always added them directly by going to the scenery.cfg file. Rarely do I depend on the scenery library menu in FS9. Seems my Scenery Library...

    FS2004 FS Architect + Plugins

OK... It wasn't installed and no matter how much I tried Win7 and FSA don't like each other and refuse to cooperate. But... I have uploaded everything I could find on some old DVDs I made back in mid-2006. Included are the contents of the plugins folder from a WinXP installation. There are a...

    FS2004 FS Architect + Plugins

In a few hours I will be home (15:30 EST) and I will check. I should have them since I installed FSArchitect some time ago. If I do I'll provide a link to a zip-file.

Scenery with my new plane; thinking...

That sounds like a good plan. Nothing as invovled as a large airport but just enough to improve some "local" strips.

FSX Startup showing Free Flight Window

Not that this would particularly apply to Flight... I've had similar occurrences like that whenever I minimized FS and moved the smaller window. It never seems to reset... unless I return to full screen and leave it that way. Sometimes I'd even edit the FS config file if it ever became too...

    FSX Hamar Airport [ENHA], Norway

Yes it is in the "Addon Scenery" folder. I followed the included directions to the letter. That's why I'm unsure why it's not being recognized. I'll look more deeply into it between tomorrow and this weekend. No worries! I'll message you with any further issues since this is the "Showroom"...

    FSX Hamar Airport [ENHA], Norway

I'm scratching my head... FSX doesn't recognize it. I even tried manually adding it to the "scenery.cfg" (both locations) and still nothing. Not sure why it's not being accepted. Was looking forward to checking out your work!

How do you map and texture aircraft to make them look real?

A little late but... I have learned that even with static scenery, using many layers in your image editing program for details, shading, high-lights... etc... make a HUGE difference. I try to imagine how something would look mid-day, then eliminate all my shading for night textures. With night...

FS2004 Scaling down aircraft during export

Thank you very much, both of you! I've downloaded both of the programs and look forward to hours of experimenting... and preconfigured MiddleMan & MDLCommander... my developer senses are tingling!! Bill, to not be rude I'll answer your questions: For the first time I'm seriously using...

FS2004 Scaling down aircraft during export

You ALWAYS have a way with words... :D As a tiny, itty-bitty, miniscule update: I believe I've found the instructions I require within Bill's document. I was successful in creating the aforementioned ".X" file even though GMax gave an odd error stating it couldn't compile the ".MDL" file...

FS2004 Scaling down aircraft during export

Thank you greatly! I saw this post but it did not seem to be along the "simplistic" search I was on. Now I have much reading to do... and I suppose I'll need a few bags of popcorn for the video(s).

FS2004 Scaling down aircraft during export

Hello All! I've been searching the forum and Wiki for a solution and have been coming up with nothing but mentions of techniques but no real guidance... yet. I'm in the process of developing and aircraft and had read numerous times about modeling it larger than actual size to avoid the way...

FSX Somedays it doesn't pay to try working...

I've always had a difficult time wrapping my head around any kind of serious programming, which is why my aircraft projects have ceased. Eventually I'd be forever stumped on just basic coding and the aircraft would never truly be finished... ...as for you, my super-experienced guru, I'm sad...

    Pictures in Reference Readme's in-sim!

I have used images in the kneeboard to aide my less experinced wingmen during multiplayer flights. Mostly for preflight and postflight stuff but it's usefull inflight as well. I found it to be a little bit more work but pictures can show so much at a glance.
