• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Kennedy Space Center Scenery for MSFS2020

Misho congrats this is awesome. I'm working on a movie set back in the days of the Saturn/Apollo missions to the moon and this will help me to figure out where to build the scenes and camera blocking. Plus I can't wait to see the launches in 3D in VR. I have one question for you (and it's...

MSFS20 Global AI Ship Traffic FSX, P3D and MSFS2020

Thank you thank you thank you, I shipped 3 boxes from Australia to the USA when I moved back here and put an airtag in one of them, and it last pinged in Dunkirk, FR. It literally just moved away from the wharf minutes ago. It's been six months since shipping the boxes and they were supposed...

True Aviation Memories - Short Stories

I've started writing out my memories while I was learning to fly as I was talkin with another pilot friend the other day and we regaled each other with our aviation stories... I decided to write down the most memorable parts of learning to fly in the Royal Australian Air Force Cadets, otherwise...

    MSFS24 Object View Distance Limits

Thanks Gary. Oh yeah I did that with my YBAF Cone and Gable Markers. You just gave me a crazy idea but it may break the sim lol. Now I know what I’m facing I’ll share what I’m doing as I want to make it freeware. For 20 years I’ve dreamed of moving satellites through the night sky. That meant...

    MSFS24 Nerdy Train Stuff

So I’m headed up to Orlando from Miami and now that I have simconnect working and can inject models into the sim. I figured I could save the telemetry of the Brightline Journey on the train. So this is stage 1, gathering the data. Next phase will be converting the data and then injecting it...

    MSFS24 Object View Distance Limits

Thanks Mamu. It’s not a total loss. There’s another approach I can implement as a plan B. And I can always use it in the film world. I may pitch the functionality to Asobo. I may be able to work within that limit creatively. Once adobo sees it may help. I also need to do a deep dive through...

    MSFS24 Object View Distance Limits

I'm working on a project I've been dreaming about for 20 years and while I can technically place the object, I'm wondering if the render engine has limits in MSFS. I need to place the object at around 500km away, I'd need to size it so at that distance it does have enough size to be at least a...

MSFS20 C# SimConnect Windows Form example

Is that still the same today? I'm finding with the console program I have in C++ I have to have the SimConnect.dll within the folder the program is running from, I thought maybe I needed to point the console program to a standard SimConnect.dll within MSFS's install..

MSFS24 I finally made a SimConnect module! Grok Rocks!

I only view it as an intern who has a bachelors degree lol... It's just reduced the burden for me... Like I wouldn't have been able to hand code COS, SIN, ARCTAN stuff to make the ship smoothly curve between waypoints... Outside oof your awesome comments Gary I'm just going to ignore all...

MSFS24 I finally made a SimConnect module! Grok Rocks!

Gary I think difference is between what is Generative AI and what is Agentic AI. Generative AI is stuff that is generating stuff like images off stuff it has been trained on, and that is where there are legal implications in what data it has been trained from. In film we've had SAG and the DGA...

MSFS24 I finally made a SimConnect module! Grok Rocks!

This is not the place for discussion about people's beliefs or knee jerk reactions about AI, go discuss that subject in the Developers Coffee House General Discussion. As for me, I use ethical tools and verify where the sources come from so that side of the conversation needs to end. I watched...

Falsely accusing someone of plagiarism that has no foundation in reality is called defamation and that type of behavior is not tolerated here.

MSFS24 I finally made a SimConnect module! Grok Rocks!

Dude it did use the SDK, and the SDK's are ONLINE. You're making a lot of assumptions and NO the code is not gleaned from what others published online because NO ONE ELSE HAS DONE THE PARTICULAR CODE THAT I HAVE IMPLEMENTED. "import simconnect.h" into a C++ main.cpp file is not stolen from...

MSFS24 I finally made a SimConnect module! Grok Rocks!

It used the Microsoft SDK, not anyone from FS Developer or outside of it. We all use the SDK, it's what it's there for. It's not stealing anyone else's IP. It's all good, we can breathe. As for AI making films, we just had a major breakthrough today that is going to affect the entire film...

    Cost for image processing functionalities

I haven't been using ScenProc for a while as my film work has taken over priorities but I'd definitely want to chip in when I have funds available to support you as you've done so much for us over the years. One other option could be a licensing agreement if users utilize scenProc in commercial...
