• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MR GMAN,
I guess you got the right idea. Don’t answer the Post, go after you can’t find one so you try to make the problem, ME, instead of finding a post referencing the FS8 or FS9 bgl.
Now, I’m still waiting for a POST referencing the FS8 or FS9 bgl. If you can’t find one don’t feel bad, I couldn’t find one either. If you find one please enlighten me.

Dear wbunnell,
I hope Don will forgive me for responding to your comments which were directed to me, because I would like to help you understand how this thread may have gone wrong, in the hopes that either you or someone else may indeed learn something from this thread.

While I congratulate you on finally apologizing to Don, why do you continue to attempt to substantiate your ill-mannered behaviour by blaming others for your confusion instead of being friendly and learning to accept that it is your responsibility to learn from what people tell you instead of expecting them to sort out your issues for you, *and give you a ten page report by the following morning? (*sarcasm meant to lighten up the mood)

I have attempted to assist you on various issues in the past and each attempt ended the same, with you hardly even participating in the troubleshooting process and in each case you simply stopped responding and for all intents and purposes your issues remained unresolved. Believe it or not, others can read these posts and glean information from questions and answers and resolve their own issues without ever posting a question.

I accept that you march to the beat of a different drummer, and as I wrote above I will not bother attempting to help you sort anything out in the future, unless I see that you are willing to participate in a two-way dialogue, instead of ignoring questions and misinterpreting the responses of those who are trying to help you.

As for your insistance that I take the time to provide you with posts where your current issue has been discussed, it is truly a moot point. If SAMM gives you the ”Not a FS8 or FS9 mdl file.” error message, you got it because that .MDL is not for FS8 or FS9....what else do you need to know?

As a peace offering of sorts, and to help you understand how easily things go sideways, I would like to call to your attention the fact that the error message you recieved that started all of this had to do with you trying to convert an FSX .MDL, in which case you recieved the error message which read: ”Not a FS8 or FS9 mdl file.”

Since SAMM only converts FS8 or FS9 .MDL's, at that point your logical question should have been "Is it possible to convert an FSX .MDL to an FS8 or FS9 .MDL so it can be used with SAMM?".

Yet despite the fact that everyone who has responded has been referring to FS8-FS9 .mdl files, you keep referring to and apparently searching for "a post referencing the FS8 or FS9 bgl".

SAMM converts FS8 and FS9 .MDL's.... NOT FS8 or FS9 .BGL's.

When you ask about an issue, slow down and consider what people write in response without reading anything into it that isn't there.

If the answer is short, consider it at face value, and if you still don't understand, politely respond that you still don't understand. (using smilies helps :o)

If the answer is long and includes suggestions to try and questions to help you troubleshoot your issue, make sure that you try what was suggested and describe the outcome of each suggestion seperately in the same order they were suggested, and make sure that you answer each question in the same order they were asked.

If you feel that I have somehow wronged you or disrespected you in my comments, I apologize.

Hope this helps
Gman
