• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

ADE Exclusions

OK, I'm a convert. The ADE146 is a great program. Wish I had embraced it sooner. One issue I am having though is even though I think I have directories set correctly, the excludes I have created don't work. Any suggestions?

What sort of excludes are you talking about?

Generic buildings on the southeast corner of the airport. I guess they are autogen. I established an exclude file and said exclude everything and nothing went away. I'm wondering if there is a scenery file in this same directory that is causing the problem. I won't be where I can test this until tomorrow night. I'll check back on Sunday.

If they are really autogen then an exclusion rectangle will not get rid of them. If you started from a stock airport in ADE then you will see the buildings in the ADE display. If they are in the display then you do not need to create an exclusion just select and delete the object in the ADE display. If you are leaving them in the display then it is the ADE bgl file that is putting them back after you exclude them. The reason you do not need to make your own excludes (indeed you should not) for objects that ADE displays is that the program has already done it for you (although you will not see them)
