• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Since you're the one who said it, George, I'm going to start to relax.

So long as Tom is happy with the Texture Editor fixes and Roby's problem is comma-as-decimal-separator (as I suspect), we're very close.

Oops, spoke too soon ;)

This is just an observation but it caught me out.

I edited a polyline and the only change was to increase the width from 0.15m to 1.0m and save. This was the result:

Re-edited, re-selected the line texture and saved, and it was fine:

Perhaps a note in the manual?

Yes, I just noticed something similar if you attempt to change textures as well.

Hi,

I have a problem with the Reset button in the GP Editor, or perhaps I don't understand how it works.

I assumed that when I pressed the Reset button that it would re-create the situation when a polygon is first created and then you get taken to the GP Editor automatically when you finish the polygon.

But when I edit the shape of a GP polygon in ADE and then open it in the GP Editor, the proportions of the vertices have not changed to the new shape. I'll illustrate:

1. I created a polygon with this shape:

attachment.php

2. I then reshaped it to this shape, and immediately compiled the file without going to the GP Editor:

attachment.php

As you can see, the cross hatches have been compressed and distorted, just as I would expect. Jon, your new beta has indeed fixed the problem of the polygon shape not changing in FS, thanks.

3. Then I went into the GP Editor, and saw this:

attachment.php

4. I then pressed the Reset button, and saw this:

attachment.php

While the scale changed, the vertices did not move into the proportions of my new shape.

5. In contrast, I then created another identical polygon from scratch, and the GP Editor displayed this:

attachment.php

As you can see, the results are very different. I need the Reset button to give me the latter result, to avoid distortions in my edited shape.

On the positive side, the scale bar is now very close to the actual size of the polygon in FS - the plane has a wingspan of 93 ft and I get 90 ft from the GP Editor. :)

Hope this helps,

Tom, the intent is just as you want. I haven't had an opportunity to test anything with the new beta. I'll do so soon.

Under the circumstances, this is what I would expect to happen. The object does not have a line type assigned. Without a line type assigned, what you see is what I would expect to happen. (The other problem I referred to is, unfortunately, a real problem which I will attempt to fix prior to re-release.)

If all you want is a yellow line, I suggest you change the texture to yellow. If you want a patterned line, all you need do is select a pattern.

Hi Don,

I think he suggested at the end of his post that perhaps a note in the manual that you will need to re-select your line style after such changes might be helpful?

Thanks,

Yes I did, but I don't think it should be necessary.

A polyline is defined by Layer, Line Width and Main Texture. A change to any one of these should cause a recalculation of the object on clicking "OK".

I am not sure about the "Change Color" buttons :o

BTW. What is the meaning of "Available Line Types" box in 0.0.41?

I added that header to this list of available line types when you select a patterned line texture. However, it should not be disp;layed until you attempt to select the line type.

It's on the list.
