• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

This update is now available via the on-line updater and fixes several small bugs:

  • [11078] Problem where custom hidden objects show up on switch to/from the Approach Designer. This is a ProKey only function
  • [11079] Removed false positive error in Issue Manager related to duplicate VOR/ILS Idents
  • [11037] Crash when adding Generic Building

Jon, do you have a site like Arno has for ModelConverterX, where you can download the latest development release?

No - we release public betas from time to time but there is no nightly download. We are working on a new installer that will include all the fixes in 1.65 1.65 is now a fixed version and there will be no more enhancements for it - only critical bug fixes from now on.

There will be a 1.70 which we expect will start to appear in the next three or four months as a beta with the final production version towards the end of the year.

Jon

your New User wizard directs us to use the FSX BGL and Shp2Vec compilers instead of the P3D compilers resulting in 'transparency' compile errors. Perhaps my FSX SDK is out of date but would it make more sense to direct us to the P3D SDK?

Thanks

Not sure what is going on but what version of ADE are you starting for? If you start for FSX then it will direct you to the FSX SDK but for P3D it will direct you to the relevant P3D SDK. If you use the Find button then it uses the registry to find the SDK. I just checked there and that works for me.

Hi Jon, I have the latest version of ADE and I have to constantly save after adding a GP line. because for some unknown reason the program will crash when using the GP editor. I know you did't make the GP editor but do you have any suggestions as to what could be causing this issue?

System is Windows 7 64bit
6gb ram
Quad 2.2ghz

I'm having an interesting problem with GP as well. They are not all saving. I am using custom ground lines extensively and when I re-open the project to continue work, several of the segments I placed are gone. Not all, just some. At first I thought I was just fogetting some, but I started keeping track more carefully and can confirm that it's not saving them all.

I don't know if this is related, but I also have a problem where I create a line using an ellipse by deleting several of the nodes to create a curve. If it take focus off the line, it often disappears. The workaround is to double click the line to bring up the GP editor and save it before moving on.

I'm thinking that maybe the lines that aren't saving are the ones that are disappearing. (I bring them back with ctl-Z)
