• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

This is a small update via the on-line updater which includes improvements to the way ADE GP handles coordinate math.

Hi Jon,
when trying to update I allways get this error
upload_2018-1-9_21-7-38.png

Of course I don't see any ADE exe running in tasks.
How can I do ?

I am not sure. That is the first time that I have seen such an error.

Hi Jon,
in my case it works a bit unusually. After applaying the download came a message "ADE doesn't work anymore and will shut down". But a little bit later ADE startet automatically and all was OK.

That can happen, and it's not a problem. The updater needs to close the running application to apply the patch. The shut down does not work properly and Windows reports it but at the same time shuts it down anyway.

Sadly not but I could send you the changed files in this case since there are only two. Email me - jon AT scruffyduck DOT org

I am pretty sure that is what happened to ALain. My French is really rusty, but it says, "The process 'G:\ADE\Airport Design Editor.exe' can not access the file because it is being used by another process," meaning that it is already running. Pretty sure the patch would work as intended if he just kept trying.

Oh I tried again and again :)

It is curious that your system essentially "reacts too fast," could it be a web/virus protection component you might be able to disable?

Mine updated successfully but I found that the Win10 popup that says click here to update doesn't launch the updater. I found that there is a Update status message on the bottom ADE status bar that must be clicked and update selected. Ignore the Windows popup, it does nothing.

The update works even though you get this message. Restart ADE and check the version number.

Hi,

Re: 1.76

Tried to open stock EVRA. ADE hangs on importing detailed footprints.
But I unchecked import detailed footprints and in the .ini it says false as well.
Finally went back to 1.75 beta: no problems.
Yes, I launched ADE as administrator.

Maybe a bug. However it is not 'hanging' rather it is working at creating detailed footprints. Leave it for a bit and it would work. Also if you could save yourself some grief by downloading the detailed footprint database from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/expvjbbzcieryyq/MFDB.zip - that will stop ADE looking for them. I will log it as a bug.

I left it for about half an hour, Jon.
Maybe it was already in the final 1.75 but not yet in beta.
Will download the database.
Tks

Hi Jon,
I do not see a link for downloading the small update you spoke of in this thread. Did you take down the link temporarily? If the update has been vetted and is working okay, I'd be interested in it. Your work has always been great.
