• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I don't think you have quite extinguished the problem I was having.

Vertical lines seem to work fine now, but horizontal lines don't.

1. Edit that same long crooked line in my ADE file.

2. Change the texture and line style to a horizontal line style, one line wide (I used a dotted red line). I.e. a narrow line style.

3. Zoom out until the line is quite small.

4. Click the left/right move button and move the line.

5. The same error appears.

This doesn't seem to happen any more with vertical line styles.

Hope this helps,

Vertical lines seem to work fine now, but horizontal lines don't.
I applied the fix for both, but forgot to invert the fix for horizontal lines. (Because Vs are offset from the bottom of the texture but pixel numbering starts from the top of the screen, the fix needs to be inverted.)

Already changed.

Another zoom problem:

I also had a crash when editing a GP line. Send home activated.

I thought this morning's peace and quiet was too good to be true!

Now that I'm linked in to Tracer_X, I'll hopefully be able to track this one down.

I don't think you will see the zoom problem. It didn't crash and I needed to terminate ADE via Program Manager.

I have subsequently deleted and rededined the line which caused the crash and it now works.

The zoom error is repeatable.

The zoom error is repeatable.
That's great, but nobody has yet given me the ability to repeat it - or even induce it.

So that I don't have to wait until Jon forwards the trace file, if you have a backup version of your file with that object (i.e., the one that causes the zoom problem) in it, please send it to me.

No, I don't have that file. But I do have the file which gives the zoom error on both of the lines indicated.

All I did was to move the last few segments of the taxiway and moved the last few vertices of the GP lines.

This is the FSX view before editing the taxiway and lines:

File attached.

George, neither line crashes my system. But I don't have the texture or the lines_def or texture_def files that control its display. So, the processing is incomplete.

Please send those.

Just to finish the tale, the proplem was that when vertices were moved in ADE, ADE_GP detected this and reset the texture scale (as it should have) - but never re-calculated the scale. The display routine "tripped over" the invalid scale.

This issue is finally resolved in 0.0.69.
