• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello all,
I am one of 2 developers from BTD, a new Scenery development team. This forum has been instrumental in allowing us to get to this stage, along with the amazing tool of ModelConverterX, and SODE. Our first airport we are working on currently is Adelaide, South Australia about an hours flight from Melbourne in Victoria. With the main terminal fairly complete, I am working on implementing SODE, it was difficult at first to wrap my head around the concepts, but it really is a fantastic tool. I hope to process the final version of the Jetway soon (Pics below are rough version). For anyone who knows Adelaide, the glass Jetways are central to the airport.

- Note - Anyone know of "Head Rotation Limit"? it seems to cause trouble with some a/c

Relatively early days, any thoughts or advice is much appreciated,
Thanks for stopping by

Holy cow that looks great. The modelling and texturing is superb. Looking great so far, keep it up! I assume it's going to be payware?

Hi Ablai,
Thank you very much!
Considering this is my[our] first Scenery development, we are still quite unsure of the logistics and want to focus on the project from a creative perspective at the moment. But of course, it would be great ;) .

Thanks again, and I also look forward to your Palmerston North scenery! ;)

looks really nice

this is for p3d and fsx? . and will it be compatible with ORBX FTX australia?

Thanks!
Our plan is to make the scenery FSX/P3D compatible, I also assume there would be no problem with FTX AU

Thanks again!

Hello All,
A small update on Adelaide,
Without wanting to spam the forum, I found a way around the 'Head Rotational Limit' in SODE, by setting the Max angle to 90 when skinning in GMAX, this fixes the issue. There has also been further Ground Poly work (Main lines for Gates have been drawn), and I hope to start construction on the Control tower soon. GSX is also now doing its thing.

Thank you for looking!

Looks Awesome!!! My home town also. Please keep the project going will buy it for sure. Aerobridges are fantastic!! Please do the area infront of runway 23 ( houses DHL etc. ) as AuScene Adelaide is all messed up and doesn't look good at all.

Hi All,
Just a quick update on YPAD to let you know we are still working on the scenery, albeit slow especially with just the two of us. That being said however, this forum has been a great help with many of the questions a first-time scenery developer may have. Over the Christmas period we have been focusing on the challenging task of Ground Polygons and creating a fully custom background layer (No satellite unfortunately, sorry!). Things should start picking up in the coming weeks, with the difficult parts out of the way (We hope!). Below are a few shots;

Please excuse the multitude of missing objects and lines.
In response to a few questions, the area just outside of the Airport boundary will be modeled, shipping centers and shopping centers and try to capture the environment as best we can. Would love to hear any feedback you may have on our scenery, to improve or add to Adelaide.

Thanks, and Happy New Year!

HI, just wondering how this is going and if it will be compatible with V4 of P3D? The creator of Aus Scene is MIA by the looks so he wont be creating or updating YPAD. Therefore we wont have YPAD in V4.

Hello all,

Apologies for a long time between updates, however, the typical external commitments have hampered development.
I wasn't entirely happy with the terminal so I decided to perform a complete redo, implementing some transparency in the glass as well. Struggling with finding a way to achieve a good amount of reflection in the glass so if anyone has any ideas on the subject, it would be much appreciated.

For now, not much in the way of updates other than a sneak peak of the new terminal,

Please disregard the missing shadows as some textures have not been baked yet, a redo as P3D V4 offers a little more headroom. The jetways are placeholders and are still the same in sim (They look a little strange in the 3d software).

Thanks for everyone's patience,
BTDsims

Absolutely amazing, hope you may consider using your technique to work on YPPH to fill the void of missing scenery. Keep up the great work, it's not easy

Hi Jacob,
Thanks for your interest! I was actually planning YPPH after YPAD if no one else took it up,

Thanks again,
