• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

AI Compliant Airfields Orbx

I have an issue where various smaller airfields in NZ only have starting points and or parking spots but no runways. I havectrued to create a runway but end up with hills and trenches. I would like to AI use these fields even if it is to get the aircraft to atcthe very least fly over them. At the moment the aircraft simply flies final, lands and then dis appears. Any suggestion. It would appear these airfields have undulating runways and I'm not certain how to add a runway that works?
Cheers

Sounds like you need to add a flatten

I've tried that but for some reason I still end up with the same resulting problems. Think it has to do with the undulating runways.
Always assuming I'm placing the flattens correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

In FSX, go to one of the airport. In slew mode when you know you're in the middle of the airport, check your altitude (in feet).
Open ADE, open the airport BGL.
Check there is a runway with a valid surface (concrete, asphalt, dirt, etc.) and eventually taxiways and apron.
Check the altitude (in meters if I'm not mistaken). Altitude/elevation should match, one feet is 0.3048 meters. If the airport elevation is much below the terrain in FSX, then the airport will get burried under the ground. If the airport is above the terrain, then the runways would float in thin air (or much likely, you should have an hill the shape of the runway)

As scruffyduck said, you need a flatten the same elevation of the airport (the same unit aswell, meters that is). The other possible reason why you don't have a runway is the runway not being there in the first place (dunno how that's possible) or the runway is there but of unknown type of surface, hence doesn't show up.
