• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX AI Flightplans

Thanks a lot, I'll have to copy and print that post for reference, but I will definately give it a try. At the moment I have another pressing problem I can't seem to figure out ,it has to do with an area in my project that for some odd reason won't show any land class, flatten, autogen ,etc... It won't even show the default land. It shows Aprons,Water class, and library objects fine, just no land class, or anything that has to do with changing the land. But I will make a text file from your post, and as soon as I can figure out this land problem, I'll get back to the traffic thing. It's strange how something used to work fine, then all of a sudden it just stops working. That area used to show the forests and stuff, now it's all just flat and empty, and no matter what I do, it won't show anything. I may have to post another thread on that subject to get some help figuring out what the heck is going on. I'll most likely wind up zipping and uploading my airport files so someone can test them out on their rig to see if I may have some weird thing with my rig going on. I've been making a few changes in my .cfg to address my FPS problem, I may have inadvertantly changed something I shouldn't have.

Just a quick question, all you developers should be able to answer this, would the change in seasons affect the displaying of land classes in a specific area? I was wondering because I have this one area where I cannot seem to get any trees or vegetation to display in. I can get lakes and ponds and stuff, including objects, but no trees or other vegetation. I was just thinking that maybe it's due to that it is Winter and maybe they just don't have trees in that location during Winter months. Is this a possibility? I've tried everything immaginable to get vegetation to show up, it just won't. Is there something I need to check before I spend too much time on the problem?

This happens sometimes ... in my experience it's been due to a "rogue" exclude from some other scenery that presumably had the incorrect parameters entered when the scenery was written, (eg. East instead of West, North instead of South), but was not removed subsequently.
Can be proved if you've got a "sand box" installation of FS where you can test individual scenery areas with nothing else installed ... actually finding the problematic file for editing subsequently usually takes a lot longer!
Good luck.

Even the default scenery has a few of those spots. I believe one is on an island in San Francisco Bay in FS2004. .

So it's probably either an error in FSX scenery or I have some other something that was put in there somewhere that is making it think I have an exclude in that area. I went in and removed all of the backgrounds (excludes,flattens,etc.. ) from the project to see if maybe one of those were interfering with the area. Still can't get anything, it won't even show the default land as it should be without anything in it. It's weird. I'm just going to chuck it up as either an ADE compiling problem or an FSX display problem. I'm not going to spend too much time on trying to fix it. There's an area across the road in that area that I can just use for what I wanted to put in that area. It would be beyond my expertise to track it down. At least I know now that it is something complicated that most likely can't be easily fixed. Thanks for the insight.

I found the problem with the scenery. It wasn't an FSX problem, it's an ADE problem. Seems that for some odd reason ADE is hiding ALL of my airport backgrounds which include all flattens and exclusions. I was able to get them to show again (still trying to fix that problem), and I found there was a hidden Flatten Exclude Autogen Mask Class background in that area. Once I got it to appear, I was able to delete that background and now everything shows as it should. I followed up on Chris' assumption of the 'rogue' exclusion and that was the problem, I just couldn't find the exclusion because ADE was hiding it. Never fails, leave it to me to find the one 'bug' in ADE that obviously the developer didn't know about and never fixed. Just my luck.

Oh and thanks for the tip Chris, I probably would have never found it if you hadn't pointed me in the right direction.
And, as for the FPS, I think it has something to do with Win11, I keep seeing my mouse curser changing to the round little circle indication that something in the background is accessing the system. I just can't seem to find out what it is. Obviously there is something running in the background somewhere that cleaning software can't find, nor does my antivirus find. I'm going to have to do a "deep" search of my registry to figure out what is using up so much CPU. I looked at the usage on my CPU using CPUID ,and without FSX even running, it shows all 4 cores of my CPU using up to 60%, that's each core. So a lot of CPU is being used by something, and that's in idle. I don't know if I have a hidden virus that MalwareBytes isn't finding or what. Like I said I have to do a DEEP look into my registry to see what the heck is going on. I shouldn't be using over half of my CPU just sitting idle. Oh and my GPU shows only 5% usage in idle and with FSX running it shows 15% usage. But FSX maxes out the CPU on all cores. Something just ain't right there.
