• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Airport Design Editor Version 1.20 Released

Thanks for the kind words guys. We are working on the next version already :)

Hi Jon,

Just a very LOUD thank you to you and your crew for such a wonderful piece of software. I don't know that it's been said but you could have sold ADE to each of us and made some money.

Again, thank you for your most UNselfish gesture!!! :)

Hi Gary

Thanks for your kind words. ADE will always be free of charge to the community. Truth is that it would be impossible to distribute any income. There is so much of the community as a whole and the development team in particular in the program.

Thanks Jon, You and your Team have created what i term a powerful tool in fsx scenery development. Ive been useing the ADE on TVA Scenery and bring it up to fsx standards as we prepare to enter the fs9 transition to fsx. I really like the user friendlyness, not complicated like some scenery tools.
Thank You

It is very nice to know that our work is useful and does the job

Hi Rod,
If you install the new version over version 1.05, then the installer would delete all files and subfolders as the first task of the installation.
I got caught out by this, all of my airport files wwere deleted!
Having said that, opening airpoirts from bgl worked well enough to recover from that heart-attack.

There is one minor issue that crashed the application a few times when I first used it.
Drawing landclass vectors will crash ADE if you close the shape by clicking the last vertice over the first one. Double-clicking on the 2nd to last position is a workaround to close the shape.

I hope that the read me warned against doing that :)

That is a good point the behavior can be unpredicatable when single clicking to close a poly - mea culpa. The double click is much more reliable. I have added this issue to the bug list

That was the same problem I was having, Jon.

Thanks Bob - we will try to sort it out. In the meantime the preferred (and safe) method of completing a polygon, apron or other object composed of multiple vertex points (fences etc) is to use the double click method
