• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airport terminal replacement coordinates (FSX)

Hi everyone, I've designed a complete airport terminal, which is basically a large single building, in Sketchup Pro 2024. I'm aware of the process exporting to ModelConverter X and then to FSX.

My question...this new terminal will replace a third party terminal in my 'ADD ON SCENERY' that currently occupies the exact same geo spot in FSX. (My terminal is fundamentally a high detailed upgrade of the same building that's currently there, that's all.)
How do I find the geo coordinates of the terminal in the ADD ON SCENERY folder that I want to replace?

Thank you.

You mean latitude and longitude? If so, move your plane to the center of the current building while in FSX and press shift Z to get the red lettering on the screen. That will include your latitude and longitude positions. If you want higher accuracy, a tool like ADE will give you that position to more decimal points. Just move the mouse to the position of the building on the airport display and read the latitude and longitude. If the building is not displayed, move your plane to the building in FSX and then use the connect feature in ADE to display a red cross at your aircraft’s position.

Thank you Tom. I will try that. I am using MCX for the first time and my .dae file from SketchUp had a few power of 2 errors which I have now fixed. I do use ADE so will take your advice about higher accuracy.
