There are a number of elements in the airport which now have an attribute called AltType. There are two options GEOID and ELLIPSOID. They both represent a meaning for AMSL. Here is a post from ASB which explains them
Both ellipsoid and geoid are 2 altitude models to represent AMSL (above mean sea level) altitudes (not above ground level).
Basically, Geoid is the “correct” one, more precise, based on some actual data, while ellipsoid is a “simplified” model representing the Earth as a perfect ellipsoid (3D ellipse, kinda like a sphere but slightly flattened).
In the wikipedia geoid article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoid, you can visualize a difference between geoid and ellipsoid models (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geoid#/media/File:Geoundnsrp.png)
