• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

Hi everybody,

any ideas what's happening here?

I don't think it's SU6-related because I saw this already with SU5 earlier yesterday hours before SU6. Typically I'm using ADE (Hotfix 3) to start airport projects to load these with the sim editor, but since yesterday aprons won't load anymore.
When working on projects my CF is empty, just the Navigraph files will be loaded.

I have to add that I've published 200+ airports on flightsim.to and I never had a problem either with ADE or the sim editor and now - I have no clue what's going wrong.

I just tried to create a stock project with similar results. My most recent project was generated a few days ago and loaded fine, this was my first attempt with SU6

Fine, then I'm not the idiot. :) Is ADE loading online data while creating a project from stock? Maybe something was changed on the servers in preparation for SU6, because I've seen this for the first time yesterday morning, a few hours before SU6.

Wait for the SDK update, The fspackagetool is not working like before - no messages only the console output out of the project editor works. I heard somebody mentioning, that the ArtProj type is no longer valid and there are issues with the marketing data...
Does the ADE internal build stil work?

You may be right, because it is quite inexplicable.

I have just tried to re-read the Scenery Library with an empty CF using LNM, and LNM crashes reproducibly. This is the first time I have experienced this.

Attached examples show screenshots from LNM of EGNM (without Aprons) and EKCH (with Aprons) directly after SU6.

EGNM also suddenly looked like this a few hours before SU6. This could also be a server-side problem, right?

By the way: Both airports have no aprons in ADE (Hotfix 3).

Same problem no aprons from new project but my existing projects load with aprons plus I have had some issues updating existing ones.
That could be another issue entirely when I modified an apron such as extending perimeter it didnt appear in the sim after reloading it showed up

My existing projects can be loaded without problems too but when it comes to modifying painted hatched areas theses modifications won't be saved correctly and don't appear in the sim, but that is another 'msfs editor' story ...
And I have to add, that ADE projects aren't fully editable anymore with the MSFS editor (latest version), e. g. aprons can't be edited and if you add a new one all existing aprons disappear.

The build appears to work in generating packages but the package tool console window does not appear. I have applied the 'fixed' fspackagetool from Asobo which does show a console window but hangs when it closes.

I assume this is sim 1.20.6.0 and SDK 15.0.0? I am working with the MS sim for testing

So two way editing is not working properly with aprons? I need to check. Also are there any changes to the aprons in the schema.

Yes, Sim 1.20.6.0 and SDK 15.0.0, ADE 20.20.7913, Hotfix 3

For the sake of clarity, I will try to summarise here again:

Normally I create a project from stock with and load it into the MSFS editor for further editing. Basically I add Apron lights, ILS equipment and adjust the colours of the Aprons and Runways.

I don't use two way edit.

This worked great for months until last week Wednesday - strangely enough already 1 day before SU6 - when I suddenly didn't see the aprons at ENGM in ADE anymore.

I have just created the project file again and attached it here.

Since then, the situation has not changed.

After loading the project in the MSFS editor, the aprons are now missing, because they were not loaded in the ADE. This is probably the biggest mystery.

This can be partially avoided by setting all delete flags to false before saving the project in ADE. Until now, this was not necessary.

You can also set the delete flags to false in the MSFS editor afterwards, then the aprons appear again in the MSFS editor, but of course they are no longer editable there as usual as they come from the sim core and not from the ADE project.

I hope that I have expressed myself clearly and that it gives you an idea of what is going on here.

P.S.:
I'm probably explaining this far too complicatedly because English is not my mother tongue, because basically it's a very simple problem:

Since 20.10. ADE can no longer recognise the aprons from the stock airports.
I can say this precisely because I have created ADE project files every day.

I can confirm that ADE 2020 is no longer loading aprons for projects created from stock in SU6. I don't know why yet but I will look. If it's a change to the bgl format format then it might be serious since the decompiler ADE uses is no longer supported and I have not developed my own.

This is a bgl format change in SU6 which I cannot currently decompile. It was always a risk relying on a third party decompiler which seems to have come to pass.
