• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 APU_STARTER has no effect

Hi there,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've got a bit of experience in FS/P3D dev, but this one has left me stumped, so I thought here was a good place to ask :)

I've got an addon aircraft (Dino/IFE's Typhoon) in P3D v4 where an APU switch calls K:APU_STARTER behind the scenes, but the simvar APU PCT RPM never rises (nor does the starter), and it never provides any AC power at all.
I tried binding the actual APU STARTER event directly to a hardware button to rule out an issue in the switch logic itself, I even added the undocumented Auxiliary Power Unit to the aircraft.cfg (even though it should not matter as it's a jet anyway), to no avail. It's like the starter never kicks in or the APU does not exist, for whatever reason, and since there is no detailed documentation on the APU itself other than it exists and should work, I'm at a loss.
If all else fails, the next best thing will be to use the GPU logic instead, but I'm genuinely curious as to why the default APU system does not work at all. I've got a hunch it's not a problem with the addon but something more general, and I'm not sure where to look for it.

Thanks in advance for your input!
Regards
