• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have created an ATIS frequency for my airport on freq 136.70 but when I tune to that freq in FSX I dont hear anything?

Lower the freq value number. ATIS does not have the same freq number range like the comm freq have.
 
Can I suggest that you do a google search for ATIS frequency ranges? You will turn up several pages with this kind of information. There is no single frequency for ATIS.
 
Or maybe this is the problem: you don't have the ICAO code as the name of the frequency (but the full airport name instead).
As I can remember I had once 136.975 as an ATIS freq and it worked perfectly.
 
But you still need to use the ICAO code as the name of the ATIS-freq.
When I used the airport name and not the ICAO-code as the name for the ATIS-freq, the ATIS did not work (and it was neither in the ATC-menu in FSX).

Just checked FSX.

In FS9 there was a high limit for ATIS. This has been fixed in FSX so any Com freq will work up to and including 136.975. No other airport can have this same freq within 60NM of your airport.

However you must make sure

No 1. Use use the ICAO code of the airport as mentioned above
No 2. You have a Tower freq for the airport. Without a Tower freq ATIS will not work.

When you add a ATIS it will always say the ICAO 19A (one nine Alpha) and not airport name (Jackson County). That is because of the recordings in the USEnglish sound file.

If a airport has a default ATIS then MS recorded the airport name for the ATIS but when we add a ATIS we are stuck with the ICAO code.

I think you can use the 3rd party Editvoicepack and record the ATIS airport name with their Utility.
 
As yet the FSX version of Editvoicepak is incomplete. You can not add new ICAOs or call names yet. I am waiting for this capability.

Only way I know is to have FS9 installed and use EVP ver 2 on it, then copy the voicepack file into FSX (backup default of course). Seems to work OK AFAIK.
