• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Auto gen problem

is there a source of this information - which cvx type bgl covers which region?
You need two essential friends, TCalcX and TmfViewer. TCalcX will give the default cvx folder and file. Load that into TmfViewer and you will see a HUGE area:

Now, select "Jump/Lat Long" and copy/paste the coordinates from TCalcX into the dialog:

This will position the image such that your aircraft is at the centre of the screen. Now, without clicking in the window, use the numpad "+" to zoom in:

It should be obvious which is the appropriate flatten.

After some more playing today and following Jim's suggestions I have now managed to remove the auto gen buildings and trees from my airport! :)

The bad news is that some how ALL autogen stuff has been removed from the entire TILE as can be seen in this shot.....

The airport is on the edge of a large city and not in the middle of a green desert! :D

This is the size and shape of my exclude area. I first tried an 'Exlude' with 'Everything' followed by a 'Airport Background' with 'Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen' which wiped everything out. So then I deleted the 'Exlude' with 'Everything' box and just had the 'Airport Background' with 'Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen' to which I added a 'Landclass' with 'Airfield1' as I was seeing the default textures where there should have been grass. The polygons are stacked on top of each other with the 'Landclass' with 'Airfield1' above the other(s).

It doesn't seem to make any difference which method I use as the entire tile gets wiped out anyway.

Can anyone see where I am going wrong?

Hi Larry,

I think you have defined your polygons in a counter-clockwise direction. Can you delete all of your polygons and re-define them in a clockwise direction.

George

George is correct. ADE currently requires that terrain polygons are drawn clockwise.

George you hit the nail squarely on the head my friend! :D

I deleted all my exclusion polygons and rebuilt them in a clockwise manner and everything now works as it should!

I just spent the past couple of hours finishing it off by placing the taxi markers in the right places and adding some eye-candy in the form of AI aircraft and vehicles. :)

Thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.
