• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Background image with coordinates

Hi all! I have a problem with images positioned by coordinates.
When I import an image (jpg) without selecting "enter corner coordinates" checkbox there's no problem. But if I select the checkbox and insert the top left and bottom right, when I click on Save button, ADE crashes.
I've tryed with different images and different coordinates, but always it crashes.
What should I do?

Can you give me an example of the co-ordinate format that you are using please? ADE is not very forgiving if it does not understand the numbers :o

Yes, sure, I'm using coordinates from SBX as shown in the tutorial ADEH_T3.

[GEOGRAPHIC]
Name=Photo01
North=45.4023069923819
South=45.3868773482705
West=11.8377685546875
East=11.8597412109375

This is the data from SBX, and I have changed the image format from BMP to JPG.

OK let me take a look - they should work

Works here :confused: - can you please attach the file called ade_200803.log to a reply here or email it to me - jon AT scruffyduck.co.uk

I thought the same, also because in Tutorial 3 the screenshot show ame type of coordinates.
I assumed the Top-Left corner as North-West and the Bottom-Right corner as South-East.
Coordinates refer to north Italy, where the airport I'm working on is located.

I attached the file in zip format (log format were invalid)

OK - the log file will tell me what is going wrong

Are you entering the value with a point as decimal separator or a comma?

Checked!

My internetional settings in control panel (Windows) are setted with dot as decimal separator.

In ADE coordinates is inserted by copy & paste from SBX generated file with dot as separator.

Ah - there has been a bug reported using copy and paste of co-ordinates into the boxes. Please try entering them yourself with a point decimal separator

I've inserted the coordinates in a manual way, with point separator, result: ADE crashes. :(:confused:

Can you check to make sure that you have the format for Coordinates set to Decimal and not to DDM? I think maybe you have it set to DDM Set it to decimal
