• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi,

Image tool is located at:

\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\Terrain SDK

Make sure you use the browse button and click on ImageTool.exe

Assuming you have the FSX SDK installed. It will be somewhere else if you only have the FS9 SDK installed instead. But I believe the FSX version is a later one, so is probably better if you have that installed.

Hi Tyler thank you for your reply !

I have found Imagetool.exe

This worked for me

c:\program files\microsoft games\microsoft flight simulator x sdk\sdk\environment kit\terrain sdk\imagetool.exe

However I stumbled on something else... Please Select a valid and existing texture folder first :banghead:

Yes i have got FSX SDK installed :) Thanks !

Go to options > texture settings > texture search path and fill in:

[MCXTEMP];texture;..\texture;..\..\texture;[FSXPATH]\texture

That at least will give you a valid texture path but I thought that MCX would do that automatically..

No, that message has nothing to do with the texture search path int he options. So no need to change that.

It means that in the mass texture editor or drawcall minimizer you did not select a valid folder where the textures will be placed. So first do that and then the error should be gone.

I checked but i can't find the valid folder so could you please give me an example of a valid folder ?

To answer your question.....

Hi,

A valid folder for textures can be anything. In the mass texture editor and the drawcall minimizer window, at the top it says "texture folder" You then choose a folder to put the textures. For example; you can put:

C:\Users\Skippy2\Desktop\My Textures\

Then It will put the textures in the "My Textures" folder if you have one on your desktop.

Hope it helps,
Tyler

Hi,

It is indeed up to you to choose where you want to put the textures. Often it will be the texture folder of your scenery project in FS.
