• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

BGL clean up

Hello all,

Does anyone know of a good program or method to clean up scenery files? I have a lot of add-on scenery and think that I am loading multiple scenery in a number of locations. DFW is nearly unfliale any more and when I load into a gate there, I am often out of position from the gate. I think I have two scenery BGLs loading for the same location.

Thanks for the help.

FS9 or FSX? Do you mean airport bgl files or multiple libraries? For multiple airport files in FS9 you can use AFCAD and that will tell you if there is more than one copy of the airport in yourFS. Also ScanAFD. For FSX there is FSX Airport Scanner that does a similar job

Okay, well, I found your (Thanks for creating it) scanner and it ran my files but only came up with about 50 airports. I had inactive and active checked and even removed areas checked. 'show all' under filter. I went into FTX Central and shut down the FTX zone and went back to default but then it only came up with about 10 airports and they were all in the Tongass Fjords. (Thanks Bill, great scenery).

I have a bunch of stuff in here from Tampa and Dream Team, cloud 9 and FTX, others. Something seems pretty messed up. I am not sure what to do next.

Well first thing is - are you experiencing any messed up airports? I think so. Then you need to remove or disable them one at a time until you have something that works as you want it. Alternatively (and perhaps better) would be to uninstall or otherwise disable all the addons and then start adding them back one at a time. Check to see what each one is doing. A slow job but unfortunately there is no quick fix
