• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi there! Which bgl compiler do you use? I used EZ scenery but I get error so I need to find another bgl compiler...

Which do you suggest?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure I understand the question. There is one bgl compiler for FS9 and one for FSX. There are no others except that AFCAD and AFX have built in compilers. Neither of these can be used outside the application so you must use the Microsoft supplied compilers.

I create my bgl through EZ scenery and using bglcomp... But through EZ Scenery I get error...

You need to tell us the details of the error - what does it say?

Well you will not figure anything... but here is a screenshot...

You are right - not very helpful. Maybe you can tell us what you were doing/adding etc to generate the error. Does this happen with all files or just one?

Does this happen for just one bgl file or many?

It happens with all files.. I even created a simple box in GMax and tried to create a bgl and still I got this kind of error...

I am not familiar enough with EZ Scenery to know what is happening but are you trying to compile an mdl file into a library to use with EZ-Scenery?

Hi,

That looks like the EZ-Library Manager (that I made). That tool uses the FS2004 BGLComp. What the tool does is capture the output of the compilation process and apparently you get this weird output from it.

Can you maybe save the XML file and show that to us? If you have the test MDL that would also be useful.

I am sending you both the xml and the mdl file to check them...

My thinking is this.. I am trying to model the Sting 2000 Carbon ultralight aircraft.. I want to test it as a simple scenery object in FS to make sure that it is working properly.. If I succeed in that I will go further to the animations and a friend of mine is developing the airfile so after that we are going to create this aircraft for FS...

At the moment I get this kind of error in EZ.. I am not sure what causes the trouble..

Sorry for my English as they are not the best you will find.. :)

If this is for FS9 then the format of aircraft mdl files is different than the format for scenery mdl files and that might be the problem

Hi,

The file is a FS2004 scenery MDL file, so that is not the problem. Also when I try to compile it on my machine it works fine.

Which version of BGLComp for FS2004 do you have installed? Or did it came with EZ-Scenery? You might also try to compile it manually and see if that works.

The file is BGLC_9.. How can I see the version? And how can I compile it manually?

Thanks guys!

No, BGLC_9 is the compiler to turn ASM files into MDL/BGL files. You need BGLComp, which can be downloaded here.

That did the job!!! Awesome!!! Thank you so much guys I have been struggling with this for so long!!

Thanks again!!!
