• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

I think I know the answer to this but I cannot test it out. All the programs I have on my laptop including objectplacer xml and rwy12 are failing to create bgl files from what seem to me to be perfectly valid xml.

I am also getting the same problem with my own utility which is using bglcomp.

I have what appear to be two different versions of bglcomp.xsd but I am assuming they are valid since they are with object placer and rwy12. SBuilder is working but does not seem to use bglcomp.

I have msxml4.dll in my windows system32 directory but I am thinking that it must be the problem. Any thoughts much appreciated :)

Hi Jon,

MSXML4 is indeed something that comes to my mind as well. Maybe it is not registered properly?

Another thing I would try is to compile the XML file manually from the command prompt. It is then much easier to see which error gets thrown back at you.

Hi Arno and thanks

I can see the error message but it is not very helpful :( . Also when I try to register the msxml4.dll I have it gives a registration error so I guess there is something wrong. I know it all works on my main machine and so I am going to leave it till I get back to the UK mid next week.

Can you maybe post the error? That should tell use something :).

Hi Arno

I just got back into the UK - bglcomp is working fine on my home office system. The dll looks the same so I do not know what is going on as far as the laptop is concerned. Anyway for now it does not matter :)
