• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I downloaded from avsim and installed saoxt_lgat.zip, which is a relatively recent release of old Athens airport (LGAT).
As it looks as a nice depiction in FS, I decided to correct its parking positions in ADE9. For that reason I upgraded from v1.67 to v1.70.6042, imported LGAT scenery objects in ADE through LOM, all objects are showing correctly (not as black boxes), but, after saving and compiling, file's size is only 36KB instead of 8.936KB. Because of this, no scenery objects are showing in FS.
I am sure there is something I miss. Its files are three, that could mean an extended compile was carried out (main, GP and TER).
Any help ?

Hi,

AFAIK, ADE does not add the models embedded in an existing BGL airport file when you compile the airport. Thus the models contained in the original BGL file are not being included. You would need to extract them using a tool like ModelConverterX or BGLX, add all the resulting MDL files to a library BGL file with a tool like Library Creator XML (making sure that they retain their original GUIDs), and place this BGL file alongside your new ADE file(s).

Even though it seems new to me, I try to import objects in ModelConverterX, but soon after start importing, shows an unhandled exception and stops.

Are you using the latest development version? (1.4x) Don't use the old stable version (1.3)

1.3 was the only one I found. Have you got a link for 1.4 ?

EDIT : I installed 1.4, it shows some warnings nevertheless I saved the report in xml.
What 's next ?

Warnings shouldn't prevent MCX from working. If you still have problems, post these issues over at the ModelConverterX forum.

Tom,

I don't think there is any problem with MCX. As I wrote, I have saved the airport file as xml.
As I am not familiar with the total procedure you suggest, I simply don't know what to do next.
