• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Black palm tree images

I`m trying to convert a TNCM airport. Their are some palm trees and other images with a black square background around them. Surely their must be an easy way to make the black around the tree transparent. Anyone any ideas? Theirs other stuff to do but theirs lots of these and people too, so thats the biggest job. I know its an uphill struggle and SP2 doesn`t help but it really doesn`t look much of a conversion problem.

Sorry, I said convert. I should have said someone elses FS9 version to FSX. Its basically the palm trees, a few other trees and people that have a square black background behind them. It seems a shame not to use it just because of that. Though I could take them out, maybe replace the trees with FSX stock.

RAF Coninsgsby is another one, brilliant free add on which worked perfectly. Then along came SP2 and the trees went all wonky, some of the airfield was black but thats easy to sort, or should be.

There are problems with some FS9 library objects in FSX and it sounds a bit like you have found some! AS far as I know the best alternative is to replace them with objects coming from FSX libraries.

OK, thx Jon-I thought that might be the case. The Conningsby one as an example is absolutely brilliant! When Traffic X is released it will have military traffic so I want to get that sorted ready. Another job added to the list.... Far far better than reinventing the wheel.

Thanks, Reider
