• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

I upgraded my PC OS to W7 64 Ultimate. I am keep getting Compile Error MSG: "Cannot find BglComp.exe. Please check your settings"
Will you please advise how to eliminate this error MSG.
1- open ADE
2- Select File>Open Stock Airport>Airport List> SElect ICAO AP>Click on AP selected

Airport plan appears. If Any changes/addons made on Airport, to save changes:
3-Click File>Compile Airport> Save ( I am receiving Error MSG and I cannot save the changes)
Thanks

I take it you have the MS SDK installed?
as your PC needs this for the BGL Compiler,
if so just run "Find" in the options menu and make sure the path is correct
to where it is installed,
and check that the paths are all showing in ADE/Settings/Options/Folders

Ray,

I thought FSX Acceleration will solved the problem. I just downloaded and installed SDK v.70.

"Find" in the options menu and make sure the path is correct
to where it is installed"

1- Where shall find "Options menu"?

2-"check that the paths are all showing in ADE/Settings/Options/Folders" How shall I check the paths"

I am little bit lost in SDK process. Thank you for helping me.

Go to Settings > Options and the Folders Tab. Click the Find Button. IF ADE does not find the BglComp and Shp2Vec Folders then the SDK is either not installed or there is a registry problem. If it is a registry problem then you can try and set the paths to BglComp and Shp2Vec manually by clicking the small ... buttons and use the dialog to find them yourself.

I just downloaded and installed SDK v.70.

I have no idea what this means. You can't download the SDK for FSX except the Service Packs and they are SP1a, Sp2 and so on.

Jon,
Thanks for your replay.

1-May be I downloaded wrong one: "Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (ISO)"

2-I clicked "FIND"
SDK Section:

BglComp Folder and Shp2Vec Folder were blank.

Will I unistall SDK Window 7 and install FSX SDK?
Sanal

Yes you need the FSX SDK to be installed not Windows 7 SDK.

Jon,

I un-installed Windows7 SDK, reinstall FSX Sp1 and SP1a. FSX Acceleration contains SP2.

I clicked "Find". Still two SDK lines are blank.

I spent many hours again on this problem No results. It must be some thing wrong in my system. I remember when I joined at bigining of April, I did have same problem but with your help problem solved quickly.

My upgrade W7 caused some problem..I dont know what to say. I cannot find BlgComp.exe folder????
Regards
Sanal

Installing FSX will not automatically install the SDK. You must do that yourself from the DVD. First from the deLuxe DVD. Then you can use the Acceleration DVD to first update the SDK to SP1a and then, if you wish, to the Accel version. You need to have at least SP1a of the SDK for the compiler to work

I cannot install SP1a. When I try to install SP1a it keep saying you have to put FSX DVD 1 and install SP1 . I do it,then SP1 installation completed. I try to to install SP1a, again ask me to put FSX DVD 1.

I don't know what is wrong?

Jon,
I did it...I installed SDK1,1a and clicked "FIND" all blanks lines filed with correct "Path"

Case closed
Thanks
