• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

okay guys,
I have just bought FSDS and have had problem after problem!, I managed to fix some, but am having no luck with this one. I try and compile an object, create fs project file etc... I used to have so many errors and have fixed all of them.. until i get to this!! It opens notepad and displays that error. Please help, I have the xtomdl.exe located fine too...

Do you have the program installed in any Program Files folder? If so, uninstall it and re-install it outside that folder?

It will now let me run as admin, but... with anything I do there's always another issue ;-)

On loading it now displays the error:


"The program can't start because ImageDev.dll is missing from your
computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

Any ideas?

Check for the file ImageDev.dll in your FSDS folder. If it's not there, it did not install properly. Install again.
 
Apparently the dll file did not register itself during the last install. I think uninstalling and then installing yet once again to a folder outside any Program Files folder may be your only choice.

says you may need a copy of the file in the Windows folder system:

"If that doesn't work, you will have to extract ImageDev.dll to your system directory. By default, this is:

C:\Windows\System32\ (Windows XP, Vista, 7,8)

If you use a 64-bit version of Windows, you should also place ImageDev.dll in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\"
