Can't replace model texture

I redid a night texture for a model in Photoshop and converted/added it.
Unfortunately,MCX can't seem to accept it.The new texture shows in the material editor and in the library texture file, but not in the actual model - the model only has the old texture that was supposedly replaced.
I've replaced the MDL and tried all sorts of variations but no go.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

What format is the new texture in? Did you copy it to the plane's texture folder?

The new texture is in the right format and shows in MCX editor and model texture folder.
Just not on the model itself.Still the old texture which doesn't exist anymore.
It's been deleted. With no old texture existing MCX should show the checkerboard, but it doesn't.

Hi,

In the event log you will see the full path of the texture being loaded in modelconverterx, so that should allow you to easily see which one is being loaded.

Do both textures have the same name? If that is the case, all you would need to do is alter the texture file itself. The mdl and bgl would not have to be changed.

No,that's not it.The old texture has been deleted i.e. it doesn't exist.
The material editor shows the new one affiliated to the model but MCX still displays it with the old texture.I would assume that since there is no old texture, the checkerboard would show, would it not?

If the texture can't be found the checkerboard is indeed shown.

Did you reload the model after changing the texture? MCX does not automatically reload textures when you change them.

Else it seems somewhere the texture was still found. Check the event log to see from where the texture was loaded.

The texture is loaded from a folder which only has in it the new texture....
but model still shows old texture.
Now I've done something! The model shows now in MCX but with no textures.
Just white and NO checkerboard!!
Please explain what this could be.

Forget my last post about no textures.I pressed a wrong button.
The old texture is gone from my computer but it still shows on the model - even though I've recompiled the MDL many times with the new texture.
??

Are you really sure that the texture path shown in the event log is your new texture? And that the texture is not loaded from a different folder than you think?

Well,I've spent all Sunday messing around with this one model.
I'll just redo the whole thing from scratch and see how that works out.
Thanks all for your suggestions.
New topic coming up.

Now I've finally figured it out.
For some reason the daylight texture shows through the night one.
It makes the night texture look different in the model than it does in the material editor.
Now,why the translucence?
In the attached, you see the day texture showing through the windows at night. At night it should be just pale yellow.

You have not finished yet, you have to check those alpha channels. maybe you made a greyscale alphachannel. I mean black color is not totally black. or issues like that.

What is the name of the day texture and night texture? How are you defining the night texture in the model?
