• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Cessna 402B FSX

Well, may he rest in piece. Well, it is sad to see him go and along with him came 2 things which brought him joy. Glad we could make his days brighter.

I did not know Ethan almost at all, he came to my attention by a friend of mine named McGuirk who loves the Cessna 402C and "Wings", started viewing this thread about 2 months ago, excellent developer with an eye for detail. While I will not be purchasing this aircraft as I don't like to fly small aircraft being an ATP I have an idea that might be of some use...

Since Ethan's passing I suggest that who ever picks this up (it had better be picked up by someone, this work simply CAN NOT GO TO WASTE) the aircraft comes in 2 liveries, the Base Cessna Roll Out and the Ethan West Edition, like others have suggested any proceeds from this aircraft go towards Ethan Wests family for their significant loss.

As for Ethan himself... as it was said in Ace Combat 6 "Its time to dance with the angels!"

Spartan, Me and another member are working on this at the moment.

I am glad to see someone picking this up, thanks from me on behalf of the entire flight sim community, sadly no other company including Carenado (surprisingly) has not made the well known Cessna 402C, as far as my suggestion above, do with it as you will was just thinking of something nice to remember the founder by.

That's great news Cag!

Do you know if there was/is any continued development on Ethan's 421C or 425 Conquest 1? I have F1's (aging) 421C and was anticipating a turbine 400 series to compete with Real Air's Duke.

Regards,

Chad

It is unknown until we can gather the files to continue work on this. We will see.

like others have suggested any proceeds from this aircraft go towards Ethan Wests family for their significant loss.

I was thinking the same thing but wasn't sure if it was appropriate to say that yet. I have no experience with aircraft but I am pretty good at texturing and would be willing to help in any way possible.:)

Rest in peace buddy. I only knew Ethan for a short time providing info for the 402, but he came across as a great bloke and a talented modeler.

Best of luck to his family.

Wondering.. (long post)

Like most of you; I've been following the development of Ethan's Cessna 400-series aircraft. His "development" (.model, .texture, .etc..) were nothing short of "stunning" (he garnered the same reaction on his MD-600 from the people over at DOT hovercraft).

Based upon the opinion of the flight simulator community; Ethan was a very talented developer, and though I never had the opportunity to fly one of his aircraft (fixed or rotary wing), his death is acknowledged as "a loss" to the "flight simulator" community.

I exchanged a few emails with Ethan offering assistance with providing information from my own files, and they are extensive (POH's, AC, STC's, etc) and procuring any additional information that might assist him in the development of the project. My offer/assistance was not a "humanitarian" gesture, I was seeking a 425 Corsair/Conquest 1 to replace my (aging) Flight1 421C to fly on VATSIM (""Real men" don't fly turbine-powered Dukes"!).

"Cutting to the Chase".

It has been "rumored"/"insinuated" by a few people that Ethan did/may have send/sent the files to people for beta testing. Does anyone really have them, or is it a myth?

Sagga (Devinci Design and Development (www.3-dev.com)) made a suggestion about finishing the development with all proceeds going to Ethan's estate (Thank you Sagga).

So "What's The Deal"? Did the files die with Ethan, or ?

Unfortunately I never did get the beta of the 402. I do have some developement shots but thats about it.

I hope someone does decide to continue with the project in his name. His work was amazing!

Hi guys, I followed Ethan's incredible work on this magnificent aircraft from the start and was terrible saddened and shocked to read of his passing - I can only imagine the impact of his loss on the developer community. I

I am desperately looking for any reference material, drawings, schematics etc on the Cessna 402/404/421, including any 3D models anyone may have or can point me to. I have pm'd one or two members of this forum with this request so I really hope to get some help soon. Thanks for anything any of you may have. :D:D;)

Hi all,
Bumping up an old thread. It’s been a long time, but has anyone got any info regarding Ethans model?
