• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello everyone :)

I've tested a thord party mesh for Wallis and Futuna (tested SRTM 90mn but for my scenery, I'll but NEXTMap 30m)

Photoreal is not the official, not licenced imagery etc)
Cliffs are ar the shore of the Default FSX Islands

Hope you are able to help me, This is my first payware Scenery, I want to do it well :)

Tanks in advance Everyone

Greetings, Aviana Scenery

That's a wrongly placed coastline vector, what you're gonna need to do is use Sbuilder, create a poly excluding that coastline, and draw the new correct one as per your photoscenery.

Btw, there's no need to pay for 30m mesh. Do some research ;)

Thanks for fast rely, the thing is thay I'm not really friendly with SBX xD (and someone told me, SMB is payware for use in Payware project, I'm not sure :)

fore mesh, you know a Free provider for 30m? :P I've found NEXTMap, ans they are not expensive and good quality :) (and usable is Project ;) ) I you have one :) tell me :)

And for magery Provider ;) I don't have Recendt Imagery (After 2010), Good Quality (1m or less) without clouds xD...

Thanks :)

One arc-second resoution (+-30m) SRTM data available here earthexplorer.usgs.gov

I'm not sure on Sbuilder's policy on commercial usage, but I'm sure he won't mind if you use it, and then make a donation afterwards from your profits. (Don't quote me on this though, I'm not sure ;) ) Unfortunately Sbuilder would be the only tool I know of to fix that problem with.

As for imagery I don't know, would probably be best to contact the local authorities.

Thank you very much Spitz ;)

Than, anyone with SMX Tutorial to remose the Shore? :)

SBuilderX does require a license for commercial projects. I've never seen Luis mention that he would accept an IOU...

The shoreline doesn't do squat and excluding it and thinking the problem is solved is going to result in some disappointment. It's the default water for the area that needs to be excluded, then added back in to match the photo area. And while you're doing the water, exclude the shoreline. But if you want wave activity around the photo area you will need to redraw vector lines.

If you don't want to properly license SBuilderX, then look at FSX KML and hope your version of Google Earth KML works with it.

That no the fact I don't want to Licence SBX, but I don't have a lot of Money :/, that't why the project is slow, I'm waiting to have enough money for the photoreal, Mesh...
:)

Btw, how much cost SBX's licence :) hope not too expensive... :)

Then, Any tutorial for SBX and FSX KML? :)

Greetingsn Aviana Scenery :)

Ive ton the Water exlusion poly, on the shore on the Island :), hav I need to select a but area (outside the blu squarre?)
btw, it is'n the official photoreal (and mesh) so I think that blue squarrre will disapear ;)

Grtz, Aviana Scenery

Once you have made an exclude for the water you will have to make new water to cover the whole qmid that you took out. In fact, when you take out water you take out a whole Qmid of it and that you will have to fill with water again. That goes for Xbuilder, ADE, FSXKML and other programs as well.
The sequence should be:
- download photoreal
- add new mesh
- exclude water
- redraw coast line and fill (the rest of the excluded water Qmid) with water again(a qmid is a rectangular piece of water).
When that is done you will have to make a water mask and a blend mask for your photoreal and add it as water and blend mask channels to your inf file before you compile the photoreal into a bgl.
Hope I have been able to explain this in layman's terms?

Blue squarre is water, the different color come with the Photoreal.... :)

No, the different colour is a specific waterclass, you have already masked the photoreal, so the darker colour comes from the waterclass you (or probably the default autogen) selected. Just as we have the different landclasses, we have different waterclasses.
