• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Community Folder Sequencing

Hi all,

Just want to explore the Community Folder. Not sure if we've hit this roadbump yet, but here we are.
Orbx launching Sydney Cityscape creates duplicate entries against my exclusion zone for Sydney Tower and Anzac Bridge, and I would like them to co-exist.
I like their work, but I like my Tower and Anzac Bridge models more.
  1. So, the context.xml file located in FlightSim/LocalCache folder lists all active packages. If they are in there and "active", they will run.
  2. Regardless of alphabetical/numerical conventions (like mods in most games), or the order in which they are copied into the community folder, if two packages consume the same position in the world and they are active in the above mentioned context.xml file, it shows both. Their exclusions set down effectively cancel each other out and they just both showup. I tried a lot of things to get around this, but no luck.
  3. I've tried repackaging, setting heavier exclusion zones etc. but they both want to appear as they are naturally both considered "community" models, (even though i think Orbx should be categorised differently, but it is what it is.)
Example of the duplication I am seeing. My model is on the left. Orbx's is slightly shifted to the right:
I knew we'd get here one day.. :)...but has anyone had any success with sequencing/ordering of packages? I will buy you several beers and many Doritos if so! :)
