• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Copying airfields

I am trying to copy my airfields from one computer to another which has had the hardrive replaced.I thought that if I copied the Ade files from computer one's Addon scenery/scenery to the same place on computer two, they would display, but they do not.I have tried copying them to ADE's open airport page, but they still do not show. What am I doing wrong?

You need to copy the bgl files created when you compile the airport. Or you need to recompile the airport project with ADE on the new computer.

Has the second computer's FSX been told to load the files by using the "Scenery Library"?

Thanks Raymk, but yes, I am refreshing the Addon scenery entry in the scenery library.Jon,I am getting some success now. There are two airfield files in the source computer which have ade and ad3 suffixes.one is small, say 80Kb.The other is large, say 900Kb.If I copy the small one to the target ADE open airport page,it appears. If I copy the larger file, they both appear on the page.I then compile and save.I am ensuring that I get both on the page.I then have to copy the ADEbgl file from the source computer to FSX,Addon scenery, scenery on the target.I then go to the scenery library and refresh and the airfield appears in FSX.So I think I am up and running now.I have a problem with one airfield in that when I open it in ADE,the map has a two inch square superimposed on it.It has a delete square in a red box in the top RH corner, the word exclude, preceded by a - and followed by a+ and OK .Nothing I do will remove it,and the only way I can shut down the computer is with the mains switch.I have deleted the airfield from the target computer, checked that this effect is not on the source computer, recopied to the target, and the square reappears.
