AO could use some serious toning down, it makes the hangars look really small as they are now.

This is better than most payware products, this looks comparable to FlyTampa for example. I am so excited!

For me, the AirBerlin billboard looks good enough. Or is that picture relatively big on the texture sheets?

Looking good. One thing that has helped me in texturing larger hangars is to calculate the pixel density while UV unwrapping.
So assuming you're planning for a 2048 width for the hangar and the hangar is say 80m:
80m / 2048px = approx. 4cm per pixel
Saves the hassle of knowing if your details such as grooves are going to be blurred. The problem with texturing large hangars is that it might look fine in screenshots when you fit the whole hangar in the screenshot but when you try it in the sim and park in a parking spot in front of the hangar then it might look real blurry.
Heh, "overspeed".
Anyways, it's looking good so far! Been dying for a freeware German airport!

Thomas Ruth did a good rendition of DUS. I think it's in Avsim's library.

ADD: But I've got no clue if mine is gonna be any better then Aerosoft's...

Your on the best way to produce a better version... Or even a more up-to-date one![]()

I'm curious, are you going to use photo-real textures for the areas not covered by asphalt, concrete, etc.?
But wouldn't using 4K textures result in having blurry textures for the end user since I believe most people keep their sim at using 2K textures max?
