• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Default CRJ-700 VC rework

This a most awesome project, thank you for taking it.

I will do some experimentation with the default cockpit textures, and if they work out I'll share with you. I'm just not 100% sure if the resolution can be improved without the VC .mdl "knowing it". As soon as I free up some time I will give it a try.

I wish you luck...I can never get high resolution textures to look good on low poly models. But you might even be able to use MCX to bring the VC into Max or Blender and bake some realistic lighting. Without using photos, it's just very hard to make hand-painted 4096 maps look realistic on something like an FS default aircraft model.

yeah, you might even be able to get some better material settings done. Some specularity on the instruments and such...

BTW Ozzman, that qoute in your signature.. great!

Fiddling with the material settings is one of the things I'm actually doing.
Maybe it will even be showable once :D

The speed limit bars were there all the time, just not moving and not visible. Microsoft simply didn't finish it

I'm more worried by the flight dynamics. FL300, mach 0.82 and still climbing with 1000 fpm at 81% N1! :yikes:

This seems to be because of the speed bug slowly moving back.
I made a code to prevent the speed bug from exceeding maximum speed and as max speed is dynamic at this altitude the speed bug is automatically adjusted.

Seems like you guys just volunteered to revise the flight dynamics. Meanwhile I'll try if i can reproduce this situation or if i just forgot to retract the flaps. :D
Am i really that horrible at taking in flight shots?

The CRJ is a bit out of my timeframe. I do seem to have seen revised flight dynamics for it though.

How did you manage to add rain effects? I have looked all over the place and seen nothing about it but here.

I basically made multiple windshields and used visibility conditions. Of course the effect is static using this method but it's an easy and efficient solution.

When he's finished...
I thought of finishing the features which are in progress ATM and then make a preliminary release with a chance for updates.
I started modeling a new set of wipers as the one shown is a copy from the exterior model and far from detailed enough.
I also need to review the Auto Land code and maybe add some more CAS announcements.

Cool Dave..One important question...Will we be able to use your updated cockpit...with the Posky CRJ700 for FSX?? I've long gotten rid of the default fsx exterior model for the crj and merged the crj vc with the posky CRJ which has wingflex..

Not sure how to understand this question
Let's give it a try:
The release will be a VC and a panel. It can be implemented in any aircraft, no matter if it makes sense or not :p
the position remains the default one for now, so it works best with the default crj viewpoints.
I got requests to make versions with adjusted positions to match POSKY planes but I don't know yet if I will do that.
Hope I made it to the point of your question.
