• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

For years i always had my GUIDS saved in a notepad on my desktop ready to be used for creating new XML codes. And when i wrote a lot of codes it takes a while to copy from the notepad remove it so it can't be used again and then paste it in the modeldef location. And your going back and forth between files.

This was annoying until it came to me the other day to just put a large amount of GUIDS in the modeldef file right below the last code i wrote and wrapped in a comment tag. Now when i write a new code the GUID is right there and just makes coping and pasting feel like 10 times less work.:teacher::eek:

I wonder how many other ideas like this are out there. Please share any that you may have created to make your life easier in the developing world!:stirthepo

I prefer cluttering my browser bookmarks to cluttering my desktop or start menu.

I saw that The prepard3d SDK 1.4 come with GuidGenerator almost the only difference from fsx sdk

There is another difference between the SDK's. I use 3DS MAX and need to use the P3D SDK for Aces Tools. But for converting from XtoMDL i use the FSX SDK because the default tooltips will work and the P3D SDK will not work.

Right, I am in Fsx for now so I guess I will use the xtomdl from fsx SDK . I have Heard that the xtomdl from P3D SDK v.1.4 is good for Fsx too but knowing those drawbacks I will stay with fsx xtomdl.
