Not sure where to ask this, so I apologize if this is the wrong spot.
I use quite a bit of freeware scenery, which uses freeware objects. Sometimes the instructions will specify big libraries like Cal Classic, or EZ Scenery which contain object libraries from multiple creators or individual libraries such as Airport Restaurants, etc.
This issue is that this creates a situation where I will end up with multiple copies of the same object libraries (exp; large hangers).
My question is; other than consuming disc space does having multiple copies of the same object library affect FSX? Do the libraries result in multiple references to individual objects being loaded into memory or is FSX smart enough to load only the first instance and avoid duplicates?
Just trying to determine if it's worth removing the duplicates.
Thanks,
Ernie
