• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

Got this message- see attachment. I had computer trouble, res tarting and tons of stuff. Finally got it working again, but noticed a number of apps I had to re-embed them i.e. choose program to open this file... etc.
does this error message mean I need to reinstall ADE? and will my prokey still work?

You should not need to re-install ADE but if all else fails then that should fix it. Inside the ADE main Folder there are version specific folders (e.g. FS9, FSX, P34) Open the folder that corresponds to the version of the sim you are working with. In there are a series of files with a .dat extension. One of these is likely to have a zero length. eg adeObjectList.dat Delete it and restart ADE - This should load the base data file. You may have lost some custom data going back to the base data but that can be replaced by you as you need it

I opened with fsx version and ade opened fine. Back o p3d version, I deleted each dat file one by one. different messages occur.... "could not fine" etc. put that dat back in and repeated.
It seems only one - adeobjectlist.dat might be the cause but I delete it and ade says it can't find adeobjectlst_base.dat I restore it because it did not rebuild,,, I then get the ) binary note.... I even tried to rename adeobjectlist.dat to adeobjectlist_Base.dt smae 0 binary thing. might just reinista.../

Well, I tried every dat file. each said, missing xxx.dat but one said that binary thing. I couldn't get that to rebuild. I finally reinstalled, but first saved out my gp poly editor stuff, and my p3d projects and plugins and put those back in. seems to be doing ok now. Yes- the fsx version worked fine.... now p3d version also works fine. Now, let's see what other trouble I can get myself into. ;) wonder why this happened in the first place. Perhaps just one of those things when you own a computer. ;)
