• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Wellllll . . . we ain't interested in seeing the sdk out of idle curiosity, but I haven't seen any promises yet. Popcorn consumption is decreasing, mind you. Just as well, must watch my figure!

You can turn on and off the new flight Dynamics, that's sound great for Third-Party aircraft compatibility.

I can't understand how any developer is promising stuff for MFS2020 if they haven't even seen the darn SDK yet.

No one has.
for me, I would try enjoy the flight using stock aircraft, recognize all new feature, new environment that promises, before going to SDK. just hobbies, try to enjoy.

Well if that is so. Could you ask her to take my hometown into the package? :);)
Also, if FM adino could ask them to fix the reverse thrust model*, let us flag reversers as operable inflight or not, and fix table 1505 on all of the default jets, that would be great.

*It's clear that when the developers made changes to how reverse thrust worked in FS2000, they did not understand how reverse thrust actually works. The most obvious example of this is the flawed thrust reverser animations that debuted in FS2000 (on the default Concorde) and stayed the same ever since. The developers thought that the reverser lever actually controls the position of the reverser mechanism, and, from where I stand, this permeated their model of the actual reverse thrust forces on the aircraft, which produces forward thrust at the idle position, and gradually transitions to reverse thrust at maximum. This works fine for modern jets which limit the amount of reverse, especially when used by simmers who think that pilots always use maximum reverse on every arrival, but this is a huge problem for older aircraft, where maximum RPM was available in reverse, flown by simmers who understand that idle reverse is the most common real-life setting, and the amount of reverse thrust used depends on the pilot's judgment. Coupled to absurd ground friction, this makes for hilariously high reverse thrust values when reversing from the gate.

Default jets are default jets, but 1505 can be edited, although it's a bit of an exercise in frustration to get it plausibly right.

The alpha hasn't shipped yet.

First they said 26th of October, then early November, then before thanksgiving. And no ALPHA in sight. I am starting to worry about the hype of this getting released early 2020 as they said.

...Early 2020?o_O I was expecting end of 2020...

I dont know if you read this already but I got this very interesting interview with the developer of FS2020 on AVSIM today alot of detail stuff is being discuss about the sim that hasn't been mentioned before go checkit out: (lot of popcorn consumption ahead you have been warned...)

Welcome to Early Access/Alpha Hell. I'm a Lvl 25 Star Citizen backer and I will be your guide :p

Jörg Neumann once worked for Digital Anvil (founded by Chris Roberts (Star Citizen);

Uh oh....

Silly question, but if the simulation takes its data from over a thousand surfaces then the models would have to be ultra-accurate modelling wise right? What happens to aircraft that depend on a fly-by-wire system to protect their envelope. Case in point the A320. Can we then expect a fully functional FBW system out of the box?

yes, that can be done.
the only things is, it will need how far SDK will be available.

I highly doubt we will have study-level aircraft out of the box.

Perhaps the General aviation aircraft will be highly realistic but A320's and 747's such as those made by known developers, highly doubt. That's where the payware developers will come in.

Initially I expect this sim to be great for General aviation flying, VFR... till we get study level aircraft and high detail airports, I am sure a few airports here and there will be realistic but not most of them.

Totally agree with you on that score but the way its being purported is that the models themselves will be where we get the feel from. In that case, the 320 should be unstable in some flight modes without FBW assisting,

Without FBW it should be unstable in ALL flight modes except Direct Law. I spent a number of years having to study the A320 in tiny detail (not for FS! I hasten to add) and came to the conclusion that it was a relatively benign aircraft that could seriously bite you if you got behind the curve with it or got into certain situations the programmers said it couldn't get into (but it could and it did).

Exactly my point. Without FBW and a super accurate 3d model, we should have problems flying it, hence my question, do you think that FBW will be part of initial release?

Well, in that case a Typhoon ( Eurofighter) should be completely unflyable. However we neither have the sim yet nor these models for it so my feet are still up and I’m not done with the popcorn just yet.
