Exclude ?

Hi All

I got the exclude builder program (something like that) and it works great.
However what I wanted to know is when I creat an exclude bgl it works but only if its in the fs/addon/scenery folder. If I move it to the folder where I created my scenery it wont work. Is this the only way it works ? Also
Ive tried to give it a name like KBFM_exclude or vice versa and then it wont work. Only works when its called exclude. I wanted to give it a name like such because I may need more than one exclude file for that scenery.
So is this possible ?

Mike

BTW I use FS9.......

There is an issue with Excludes in that they have to be in the scenery priority order above your other items of scenery. Excludes will remove anything that is placed above them in the scenery priority order. If oyu want to place it in with your addon scenery then you need to give it a name that is alphabetically before your other Bgl files. Exclude files are often given the name 000.bgl or similar for that reason. If you are calling it exclude then it probably comes at the top in the folder, if you call it something else then it is probably down lower and may not do what you expect.

AHHHH Well how about that ! I didnt know that and that makes sense
to me now. Thanks for the feed back.

Just wanted to mention as well how much I really enjoy and appreciate this
forum. Its been very helpfull and a learning tool for me as well.
Thanks a million guys for your help here......

Hey Jon

Well I thought that all made sense to me. I gave it a try as you suggested
and to no avail. I tried again making it using the 00.bgl didnt work I even tried given it a different name still no good. Now if i just place it in
the Addon/scenery folder works great. If I place it in my Addon/Mobile_Downtown/scenery folder doesnt work. Im only trying to remove a few default building (outside of airport) and some trees.

Now does it matter that these are objects that only show up under
the autogen ? I was thinking about using Sbuilder. Can I use this
or something else to just create the exclude only. Would it have to be registered version to do that ?

Im sorry to be such a pain but I hate to get stuck like this...

Mike

Ok I got it to work correctly now. Instead of making 1 or 2 large "excludes" i made 3 smaller ones and I also deleted the scenery data file and allowed FS to create a new one. Not exactly sure which one of these things caused it to work correctly but anyway it did. And I just named each one 00.bgl,01.bgl and 02.bgl .

As far as I know, the scenery data file should be freshly created, as oftes as you change anything in your scenery. At least that's the case on my machine ...
