• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Jon,

if you want these information in future by email please let me know and mail me your email adress.
I am glad that you provide us with this tools. I also have some experience in programming, so I try to help you as much as I can. Please try to understand this thread also as a wish list;)

I started with a FSX airport, because I need to update this for my newest project. Zoom in zoom out works fine, but after I know some CAD software I searched for something to pan (move in zoomed in position). The easiest way would be to provide some scrollbars?
Then I started with a mistake. I wanted to delete the Taxisigns by keyboard (delete) This causes an error... After some further test I found the right click delete. This works fine. Maybe you can implement also the keybourd function.
I wanted to change the apron positions, how can I do that? can I edit thes ones?
Thanks

Me again:)
I just found out that I can pan by using the left, right up down keys. Thats fine, no further changes!
But I deleted all taxiway signs, and saved the xml file. But when I open it again, the signs are back again....
I checked for all updates, do I need something else? Do I need changes in my system (I use german language defenition)?

You can pan by holding down the center mouse button and drag (if you have a center mouse button) or, as you found by using the arrow keys

The keyboard delete is there but it did not work properly. I thought in the latest buiild that I had fixed that. I will look at it again.

That is in the next version

Good morning Jon,
good to see that I am not the only one getting up early in the morning:)
Thanks the pan function works fine!

I wait for the next version and I hope you can solve the problem deleting Taxiway sign..
Do you already have a release date in mind?

Taxisigns are a problem and I am taking out support for them for a while. Because they are not part of the airport record but separate you cannot remove them from an airport just by deleting them from the XML. The ACES team have improved the handling of taxi sign exclusion in FSX SP1 but the way to remove them involves exclusion rectangles. Since they are not part of the airport record (SDE - which is what ADE is using - uses an algorithm to try and associate signs with an airport. BglAnalyze uses the same method.) deleting default signs in ADE has no effect on whether they show up in the airport. We are currently looking at a safe way to handle this. In the meantime I will be turning off handling signs since it is bound to cause problems and lots of queries for users!

Hi Jon,

But why do you still display them when I deleted them by hand in the xml?
shouldn`t they disapear in ADE?

Hi Jon,

But why do you still display them when I deleted them by hand in the xml?
shouldn`t they disapear in ADE?

Which Xml did you delete them from - the one with [Master] at the end of the file name in the Master sub folder or the one in the work folder? Apologies that there is no documentation for ADE and that notes have come out in this forum but an XML save goes into the master folder. If you are changing that one then I have a bug :o

Sorry, I did the changes in Work :-(
Now it works fine....
But as slong as I can not delete the original one I still have a problem.
What Exclude must I use that the signs dissapear? ExcludeAll did not work?

Christoph

I am looking at this at the moment. An excusion rectangle that covers the airport and has excludeAllTaxisigns set to True should work. It needs to be at the top of the XML above the airport record. I am looking at how to make this happen safely in ADE.

If it is not working then let us know - well either way - since we believe that it should work properly now in FSX SP1

No problem - the next build of ADE will handle this automatically for you :)
