• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Fokker 100

This is an amazing project Bill!

If this will have a decent system modelling (I know, it's early to say this in this stage :D ) than it is certainly going to be a "must buy" :D

The external already looks amazing. Texturing this bad boy will be an interesting exercise as well :P

Ummmm a Fokker, now all that is needed is the Famous Well Known Canadian North Scheme and Hughes Air-west.

Bill has a reputation for payware, not vapourware.

Bill has done lots of quality GA/Biz Jets aircraft yes. But Airliners are a different beast - having done one myself and feeling the morale of developing one, I know very well the pitfalls....

Nevertheless, I look forward to the successful completion of this as the real world one slowly retires.

If system simulation is comparable to the DA Fokker and it has a VC this one is a must buy for me

When I did systems coding with the Learjet, it was nothing but a nightmare. No one read the manual, everyone complained that they had to use the switches on the screen rather then on their Saitek joysticks and VC buildups. So, I doubt I will try doing systems again. That was just crazy.

If you don't do systems coding it wouldn't be realistic, that would really be a downer for me. Besides, with the Fokkers you got one benefit. People already know how to fly them from the DA Fokker era. Say what you want about the DA Fokker, but it is realistic because of the systems coding. Without that it would be a laugh, hardly more than freeware.

Oh no are you serious? If people are too lazy to read through a manual or watch a tutorial on YT, then they aren't worthy of such a product. Please let this bird have great systems, it really deserves it! And besides, the only switches you need on a Yoke or joystick are the trim knobs ;) And maybe a push-to-talk button if you fly online.

That's one of the worst complaints I've ever heard. Right after "THIS BIRD DOESN'T HAVE SYSTEMS MODELING!"

If you need a hand, give me a shout. The result will, of course, not be 100%, but I don't want to have a payware plane without anything at all either.

I'm wondering if it's in the nature of some people to complain about irrelevant things (talking about people who complain about the people who don't read manuals) They actually make giving support time cosuming and standard... With the first question always being: "Did you read the manual?"

However if you don't make systems people are going to complain aswell....

In any case, I believe the first step is to create a believable visual model. Bill is renowned for the quality of his models, so we don't need to worry about it. And I'm pretty sure that this will be one of the very few payware addons I'll ever purchase, no matter whether it's got systems modelling or not.

;)

I don't agree with that. In my opinion the systems make the plane, the model is just a side issue. If the systems are not good, I probably won't buy it no matter how good the model is. Of course in development you start with the model and it certainly helps if it's looking a bit good, but for me flying means handling and operating these systems.

Odd. I could have sworn I clicked my shortcut for FSDeveloper, but I seem to have arrived on AVS.

Bizarre!

Check out Bill's other aircraft, especially the Lear 23 to see what you can expect in terms of systems. I really doubt that he's going all out like PMDG or DA.

If you really want a full blown simulation of a F100, including a shift in CoG due to an overweight passenger or shifting fluid levels in the waste water tanks, you'll have to do your own model or wait 250 years until another developer makes one.
