• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey all,

My new baby. The Fokker 100 (and 70).

I have always loved these planes since one came out for FS2002 or FS2004. I put a lot of flight time on it, loved the simplicity of the panel, the clean lines. I decided to go for it.

Still tons to do. I need to rework that reverse thruster a bit. It should angle upwards slightly.

Thank you Jesus for blessing me with learning about working in low mesh and using NURMS or that wing root zone on the bottom middle of the fuselage would have been a scary nightmare. Same with the front nose around the windows.

Vrry nice! Is it safe to assume she'll get a virtual cockpit?

It's not Digital Aviation ;)

AWWWW YES!! Thank you so much for this one! As a Dutchie I can't help but love the Fokkers, too bad our own airline is replacing them for plastic Brazilian planes :( Those Embrears don't have nearly the charisma and flair that the F-70/100 have

I just had to ask! I'm thrilled to hear it!
So am I! The DA F70/100 is great, but the lack of a VC just kills it for me... I can't fly with a 2D panel, maybe I'm spoiled but anno 2015 every plane for FS needs a VC, so I have big respect for all the developers here!

Oh how I wish one could merge your visuals with DA systems, I'd have to take a month off, or two :)

Ozz, I ended up doing all the rudder mesh manually. I went to top view, created a spline that was a half of a fin shape, made a copy of that and attached it, added Cross Section and Surface and made it a solid Polygon object, went from there. The Fokker has a wild little tear drop thing in the center of the Elevator structure that appears to rotate with elevator trim. It also has that fin structure that is in the front lower edge. I made that with a cylinder. I also cut out the rudder fin, reattached, then made all of the extrusions and things to make them both solid, filled openings/edges in the rudder join area.

The cool thing with the latest versions of Max is adding in Rings or Edge rows via the Flow command. I could control the mesh and add rows where I wanted on it. So far, only the fuse and wings and engines are 'base mesh' controlled.

The scary part next will be the creation of flaps... Lots of flaps parts. Lots...

Looks beautiful!

On another note: could you show/tell me the material settings you use for that reflective floor in 3ds max?

Nice model.

Good luck with the systems though, far too many produced model previews and then.... Nothing. Would be a shame if this happens for such a nice model.
