• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,
I've restarted the design of my 717 and I'm making the paint kit right now. This is my first aircraft model so I'm learning a lot making it. I don't know so much about gauge design but I intend to finish the external model at least.
Hope you like it!

Tidy model, Devinci! :D

Seems there's a lot of interest in gauge modelling these days, time for a small tutorial or series perchance? David W has done one in French, we just could use one in English too!

Thanks,
Right now I'm mainly using the SDK to learn about the aircraft materials, etc and sometime it's quite confusing. I have also discovered the possibility to make 3d gauges but I think it's gonna be very limited for PFD, ND type of gauge.

Devinci, remember, the more you look into, the more you learn and i promise you this thing will become a BIG hit! :)

Thanks, It's a long learning process but I learn knew things everyday and that's what keeps me motivated!

I've been experimenting a lot with the material settings and I'm getting this so far.

Don't make shiny tires, I've seen this mistake in a lot of models! :)

Yes it looks good but I the bump map is not displaying correctly. It's like it is not following the uv mapping I've set for the fuselage. I'll try to make the tires look good when I get to that. Hopefully I would have understood a lot by then.
