• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Simple Voice Control

Made for FSX, but might as well work in everything from FS8 to P3Dv2.

I've done a script for GlovePIE's (freeware controller emulator) voice recognition feature. It's actually bloody simple in principle (and code) as your command does nothing more than triggering a keystroke in FSX, but the amount of keys covered made the script balloon a bit in size.
The already present payware tools are either tailored to specific aircraft or payware and the only equivalent freeware tool is a bit old and hard to adapt.
It should work with every aircraft, but will not work with custom L: var coded switches that do not have a <KeyEvent> assigned to them. Also, setting throttle, mixture or similar to a specific value is not supported (would need SimConnect and much more complexity), so it's all "...increase. ... Stop!" based.

Here's a demonstration video.

Notes:
- Occasional use of strong language here and there. If you don't like to wash your ears with soap, don't click play!
- The language test feature will not be in the final script. This was just done to demonstrate input language capabilities
- Sound mixing isn't the best and I didn'twant to yell in my apartment in the middle of the night, so I might be a bit too quiet throughout the video
- My carrier flying...well, let's not talk about it.

The script itself is pretty much done in the scope I want, but I still need to finish the manual for this to facilitate customization (everyone's keyboard assignment is different).

- Edit:

Released.

This is cool!

I know that its early to ask, but will it be possible to record custom commands and assign FSUIPC outputs to them?

What I mean is: -"IRS to align" Sets the IRSs to align in the PMDG 737, just like if i would command a key for it in FSUIPC.

Cheers,

Attila

See my comment about L: vars and <KeyEvents> above. The same principle applies to C++ gauge variables and FSUIPC.
Any supported function requires an actual, physical key assignment (like CTRL+SHIFT+X or something) for it to work with GlovePIE.

I've already posted about a possible SimConnect-based tool here:

In short: Not efficient and simple enough for my taste, so no.
