• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

Fuel bar widthcode problem ( SOLVED )

Hi folks,

I've tried very hard to learn my XML coding without asking for help here, and have successfully created a HUD, MFD displays and even a ( slightly ) customized GPS / moving map display. However, a simple fuel-bar has me stumped. I have it working, but for some reason it shows only a small portion of the total width of the gauge ( 300 pixels ). It's all done with XML vectors. I've read a few similar threads here but nothing quite hits the spot, so I suspect I'm missing something in the code. The image shows the aircraft with approx 50% fuel. At maximum, the green bar should extend to the far right of the screen - instead, it's tucked into the left. I fI increase fuel to 100%, it does grow, but only up to about the 100 pixel point. Gotta be something in my code - can anybody see what I'm doing wrong?

( PS: If I add 300 MAX to the end of the widthcode, the entire rectangle draws, so there's nothing in the way of it that's blocking it in any way. )

Code:
<Element Name="Fuel rectangle">
    <Position X="600" Y="380"/>
    <Rectangle Width="300" Height="100" FillColor="Lime" Bright="Yes">
            <WidthCode>(A:FUEL TOTAL QUANTITY,POUNDS)</WidthCode>
        </Rectangle>
</Element>

IIRC, WidthCode should be proportional to Rectangle width, so, if that's correct, you might try <WidthCode>(A:FUEL TOTAL QUANTITY, gallons) (A:FUEL TOTAL CAPACITY, gallons) / 300 *</WidthCode>

Hope it works,

Bob

Thanks, but no legend here - make too many mistakes. One has to be as good as, say, Roman (Spokes2112), to name just one, to be a legend.
