• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Gate Jetways - a query

Hi,

I have sussed out how to move the Jetways to ensure that it lines up sensibly when called - however, 2 questions.....is it possible to make jetways work for Ai aircraft, and secondly is there a Stairway object available that can be used instead of the jetway ?

Thnx

I assume you are talking about animated jetways rather than static ones?

Hi,

Yes the animated jetways are quite cool - never seen them working before - but they do take a little moving around to get them to operate properly.

But yes, I wondered if there were animated or static jetways (and/or stairways) for Ai aircraft.

When Airforce One lands at RAF Valley - which it does at 12 noon every thursday in 'my world', I 'd like Mr Bush to be able to get off....and clearly a Gate-type jetway is inapproriate even though it is an airliner.

Thnx

Certainly there are stairs in some of the EZ Scenery or RW12 libraries. I am away on my boat with the laptop at the moment so don't have my fully loaded LOM available otherwise I might be able to tell you which libraries.

Okay - thnx...I'll be loading all the R12 libraries soon so I'll search for them.

I assume the animated jetways won't work with Ai then ?

Cheers and happy sailing.....a friend of mine moors at Caernarfon......just a Gin Palace really - the best kind really 8-)

Cheers

The animated jetways in FSX do work with AI. You require the exits correctly configured in the aircraft.cfg file.

Mine is more of a Gin Shack but there is plenty of room for Gin in the liquor cupboard and ice in the fridge :)

FSX also has about 16 different flavors of static jetways leftover from FS9. No stairways avalible but many can be choosen from 3rd party addons.

Jetways

This is a little off topic, but I'm having some challenges getting the parking markings around jetways to appear on the tarmac. The ones under the jetway showup, but the parking markings don't. Any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

If you mean the 'T' then the heading of the parking spot needs to be at a slightly different heading than the parking link that attaches to it.
