• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Germany Photoreal

Oh, that's pretty easy to explain:
Imagine you have a agn-Tile, with a border straight over it. The left side is i.e. Hessen, the right side is Bavaria. So the tile with the autogen for Hessen is in Hessen-Download, the tile with the autogen for Bavaria is in Bavaria-Download.

Of course the houses have the central-european style (as far as the default P3D supports that). The Houses are placed by using shapefiles, with a spatial tolerance of about 12 cm. I think that is exact enough.
Regarding the "Altstadt": It is not as easy as you think, because I have no information, where a "Altstadt" is. So that's not possible yet. Churches in the villages would be possible, but P3D does not bring good, german church-models with it.

---

But I am worried, there are part autogen files present.
You don't have to be worried, everything's alright ;)

Yes, indeed, I could look every city in germany look up on google maps, create a special shapefile for the "Altstadt" and then create all the autogen again. To be honest, that will take months if not years. I'm afraid that's not worth the effort.
No, as I wrote multiple times, I have absolutely no talent in modeling, so I won't create models for the churches, as well as the POIs.
Currently I am thinking about creating a low resolution photoscenery for germany, to make the autogen usable for everyone.
Afterwards, I will continue with Belgium.

Hi Matthias ,

I have re-downloaded all of the regions.

Can you please tell me which region contains Lat 47.559814 Long 7.734375

Please wait with re-downloading all regions. I am currently working on a new version of Bavaria...

Just a hint: Enter "47.559814 N 7.734375 E" in Google... Then take a look at google maps, and take the next name... Enter it at google again, for "47.559814 N 7.734375 E" it is "Herten rheinfelden" and ... Wikipedia... https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herten_(Rheinfelden): "Baden-Württemberg"

That position is near EDTR ( Herten-Rheinfelden ) and the autogen file is 011223200021331An.agn.

I cannot find that file anywhere on my machines.

The whole of Germany is now finished!
Hmm, I seem to be missing autogen at the following airfields:

EDSA
EDSB
EDSH
EDSI
EDSK
EDSL
EDSN
EDST
EDSW
EDSZ
EDTB
EDTC
EDTD
EDTF
EDTG
EDTH
EDTK
EDTL
EDTM
EDTN
EDTO
EDTP
EDTQ
EDTR
EDTS
EDTU
EDTW
EDTX
EDTY
EDTZ

Which region(s) am I missing?

Nice previews again, do you plan to create a big package with all the files ?
Downloading the whole project instead of by parts would be much easier to add It to personal photoground !

I am currently planning to create photo-packages. Creating a "all-in-one" would be possible, but I could not share it due to my slow internet speed.
But I will create the photo packages on such a way, that you have then 13 autogen downloads, and 13 photoscenery downloads to cover whole germany.

Yes, not the way BSS does it, I put a federal state into two downloads, one with photoscenery, one with autogen...

No, i'm sorry, I don't have list with all airfields or agn-files for each state...
I have to look it all up on google maps

Hi Matthias,

what orthoimagery are you planning on using? As far as I know the only public-domain/open data sources are a few German states (though with quite a patchwork of dates) and then the low-resolution stuff like Sentinel or Landsat. Anything else would need to be licensed at a cost of >15 Euros per sq km.

Cheers, Holger
