• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v5 Germany Photoreal

Hello everybody!

Some of you might wonder, what happend to my Germany-Project.
First of all: It is not finished yet.

And now I have bad news...
I won't continue to create the missing states.

Why?

And that's the good news now:
During my Africa-Project I have improved the scripts to create photosceneries.
So it makes no sense, to create the missing parts of Germany with the old scripts.
So I decided, to leave Germany as it is, and introduce a completely new version of Germany, Germany v2.
What will be improved in comparison to the old version:
- Sharper photoscenery
- Better watermasking
- No strongly visible color transitions
- Maybe - depends on filesize - 3 Seasons (Summer, Winter, Fall)
- Easier installation
- Smaller file sizes
- Faster processing (but you won't notice that of course :D )


And of course I also have a preview for you all!

Wow - for once I am glad having waited and now watching this news! Thank you for all your effort, especially because ORBX will not do a TrueEarth Addon for Germany to my opinion anymore....

Yes, I also doubt that ORBX will bringt TE Germany... But I am pretty sure, that with v2 you won't need a TE Germany anymore! ;)

Hi Matthias,

In V2, ave you managed to avoid placing autogen objects within airport boundaries?

Wiith V1 I have needed to manually annotate about 10,500 agn files.
 
Personally I would prefer variant 1. I think you see more and the views are much nicer in Summer as far as photo imagery is concerned.
 
Thank you so much for your feedback, I also think that option 1 is the best.
So I think, you can expect Bavaria before Christmas!
 
I would have just summer and winter and leave out Spring and Fall but keep 1m resolution. Yea, a little bigger in size but Europe without winter would be :(
 
Don't worry, Matthias. There has to be a compromise. So it's not just no difference to TE Netherlands or GB, but actually FOR GERMANY! As I said, ORBX will never set its hands to it anymore to my opinion. So it's a great piece of a puzzle and to me the best part to sim with until FS20 release...
